great first step and explosiveness for his size. Gotta think that they'll get him into shape in a year or two and he'll be productive. Thinking a Scott Kiernan type. Predict scholarship by year two.

I assume a "preferred walk-on" gets more perks than a regular walk-on but less than that of a scholie player. Can somebody clarify the distinctions?

A walk-on is a student who has to try out for the team during Spring ball.

A preferred walk-on is already guaranteed a spot on the team provided that he can pay tuition and get enrolled.

Yeah, but he turned out to be too small and weak; only reason he got on the team was because the coach wanted to kiss-up to the kid's grandfather.

I wonder if this young mans grades will get him some scholarship money to help ease the financial strain. I'd have to think so.

And the only reason he got a starting job was because like 4 centers in front of him were hurt.
