For Donnie, I’m choosing the hard coach and maybe lesser play and promises option on a good team versus a continuation of his situation similar to the Cuse even if the pay check is a little bit more. He has all the tools in the world to be the real deal, he needs an old school coach to unlock it. Rick Pitino would do wonders for him if Pitino opened the door. My own honest opinion. I don’t think Pope and Kentucky is going to change his trajectory even though I don’t think he will be THE featured player with Pope.

Donnie wasn't staying regardless of the coach. the other 2 nobody cared about before and actually begged nate to go, now it's a crisis. and we haven't whiffed on everyone. we've gotten several we wanted. but you can't get everyone and it's not over.

I think his point is our guys have mostly landed at other P5 programs whereas all of our new guys are coming from lower levels.

Agreed here 100% people are gonna love to hate on Gerry, just like they did JB. JB got a lot of program players who stayed. Very few blue chippers. He coached them up. We need to give Gerry a chance to get the guys he wants before passing judgement. Gerry already has 2 of the top 35 guys in the class of 2025, a guy (MM) that is rated as a top 5* recruit, TO GO ALONG with Doty, Tobiason(who may not have reached their ceilings) AND Dual, who is a very highly rated player. A couple more pulls and this is as good rankings wise as the majority of JB teams.

Considering a lot of euros started last year and Givony compared him to a top 5 prospect I don’t get everyone disregarding 3m.

Well one of doty or 3m will start. If Doty gets the start over him then we could probably agree neither would start on a top 25 team. Both would be good bench pieces on a team like Illinois or similar.

You didn’t answer me. Why are you assuming 3m isn’t a starter level player? Also I happen to think Doty and Dual are better than George and JJ. I’m not sure that means top 25, but I don’t care where they came from. It’s not hard to upgrade those positions.

I’m assuming Doty gets the start of 3mm are you not? Where else would 3m start over tobianson or white?
