Donnie Freeman injures foot

Sadiq could play the 3. Sadiq reminds me of Jared Vanderbilt a super athletic athlete that could guard 2-5.
He can guard the three and he’s a much better ball handler than Donnie. You just play with three forwards and no center. Teams have been doing that for years.

I'll also add (since I looked it up) that we've had 5 freshmen contribute meaningfully in the past 9 seasons:

Battle
Brissett
Girard
Mintz
Freeman

That's the list. Basically one every other year.

But we're going to have 2 next year? Doubtful.

Just to be clear, we're going to start the Aussie guy at PG?

The guy who's never averaged more than 2.9 assists in a season over the past 3 years (I looked it up)?

We're truly in silly season now.

I REALLY like Fennell. I think he's going to be a great player for us eventually.

But I agree 100% that it is playing with fire to have this be plan A, B, and C.

“He was a member of the COE team that won the 2024 Albert Schweitzer Tournament in Germany -- averaging 8.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and a team-high 2.4 assists per game -- before going on to win a gold medal with Victoria at the 2024 under-20 National Championships in Ballarat.”
They don’t give out The John Stockton assists I guess.
Also like it or not if JJ comes back the ball will be in his hands a lot of the time.

Watching his highlights he looks to be a clone of JJ, but not as fast. He's someone who wants to drive drive drive and try floaters and mid range jumpers ... which is the Syracuse offense.

According to this site he's a 90% FT shooter which is a big step up from what we have seen. He has made 3's, but this site does not show percentage. I remember reading something comparing him to Tyrese Proctor which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I do agree we need more shooting and ball handling though.

Who said undrafted ? I’m saying it didn’t help that he’s not playing. If he was playing every game and continuing to improve, it would be helping his stock. Also, people don’t seem to realize the difference in money between being drafted 12th and 26th nowadays. Thats where the extra year can truly help a guy like DF
Currently mocked as the 66th best prospect in Givony’s (ESPN) big board (as of middle of Jan). Some agent influence in his list but the drop happened when he was still playing.

40% from three in that season. About 33% of his FGAs are threes. I get that he's in a pro-development league though. I hope he's great. And it's not like he was unknown: Florida, Cal, and Louisville all have their eyes out for foreign players. And Woj knows his stuff. I'm super skeptical about freshman until they get into games. And Red isn't going to have time to gauge Fennell until well after the portal is picked over.
