in his interview on 99.5 was if you notice the Clemson Sideline they had 3x the staff/coaches we have and it keeps our coaches up late at night recruiting, but we are fighting with all our strength to keep going.

Nice little shot at Wildhack.

Not a hard shot.
If you’ve noticed, the SU staff has expanded quite a bit since last seasonngs are improving...

Aren’t we 2nd in the ACC behind Clemson for football staff size?

Dino knows what it will take for us to be continually competitive at a high level in the ACC /P5 Conferences. If we want to keep Dino, we need to support him and his staff. Fannies in the Dome is important too.

I dunno, I get the idea he has a lot of respect for Wildhack. It seemed to me, rather than a dig at him it was more a compliment to his own staff, acknowledging how hard they work to compete with a program like Clemson. Just IMHO.

Maybe so, but Dino made it clear he needs more.

You would think also Miami/FSU would have much bigger staffs too.

Well maybe not a personal shot, but more like hint, hint.

I can't think of a head coach that doesn't always want more. At SU, it is a little more gradual but hopefully the upswing of needs get filled quickly and then to wants.

I think everyone here noticed the staff size difference during Clemsons first trip here in 2013. During warmups it was pretty obvious that it looked like every player had their own personal coach hovering around them.

Always selling...nothing wrong with that.

In this case it's not simply a matter of wanting more. It's saying, point blank, this is what it takes to compete at this level. A comparatively small staff pulling all nighters week in week out may get you an upset here and there, but it's not sustainable. These coaches do it partly to establish a body of work. They will soon have ample opportunities to go somewhere that will not hesitate to spend on a competitive staff, resources, facilities, and processes. That in turn allows the coaches to perform at a high level while not sacrificing a decent quality of life. The message is very clear, but yet it's amazing how many dinosaurs there are, with a mentality stuck in the dark ages of college football. This is what it takes to compete at the highest level. Either accept it and move forward, or don't and continue to toil in futility.
