Chad Ford has MCW going 7th to Sacramento in his mock draft. I feel bad for him if this happens.

Also one of their "insiders" suggests Cleveland reached on Waiters last season, and their best fit would be drafting McLemore and moving Waiters to the 3rd guard. umm what? He averaged just under 15ppg in only 28min/g and a 21 year old rookie. your basically going to give up on last years top pick after an all-rookie season? i don't know some of these hack writers get these jobs. the espn "insiders" writers are especially terrible minus a select few.

Otto Porter at SF, paired with Irving and Waiters in the backcourt, would be pretty freakin sweet for Cleveland. Agreed, drafting another guard like McLemore (although I believe he will be the best player to come out of this draft), and moving Dion to the 3rd guard would be silly.

Mmmmmmm, Timbits. See what I did there?!

Well, it makes sense. The kings don't have any point guards in development. ;)

I read that article and it will never happen instead they would be drafting McLemore because Irving always breaks down and have Dion Waiters who could takeover to play the PG and McLemore for the SG.

Cleveland is taking Noel, or trading the pick. Porter is the only other player that makes sense for their needs. Bill Simmons had some good trades Cleveland should pursue.
Bill Simmons@BillSimmons
Last fake trade: hey Rip City, would you flip LaMarcus Aldridge to Cleveland for Tristan Thompson + 1st overall pick?
Bill Simmons@BillSimmons
1 more fake trade: Cleveland sends 1st, 19th, 31st and 33rd pix + Tristan Thompson for Kevin "Fleeing 'Sota in 2 Years" Love... who says no?

I think they should consider taking Noel, have him rehab the whole year to make sure he's strong and healthy. Then into the lottery next year hope you get one of the big guns and you've got a great team.

I think their best move is Noel. When he gets back, you have him as a shot blocker / defender inside. They've got the Brazilian dude, Anderson Varajo and Tristan Thompson to make a nice 3 big man rotation, and will have better interior defense if Varajo can stay healthy.

They should pick the best available SF at the #19 spot. You're looking at a borderline playoff team if they can get a good SF late in the first round.

Cleveland had among the worst interior defense last season. They aren't trading the Noel pick, IMO. He is exactly what they need at that spot. Grab a decent wing (can you play Allan Crabbe of Cal at SF? He should be there at 19). That's how I'd go.

I have no problem if the Cavs take McLemore, Porter, or trade. I think Dion playing potential starters minutes off the bench could be a good thing assuming the Cavs pick McLemore. I still see him as a scoring PG who needs the ball in this hands.

On local WKNR yesterday the Cavs beat guy said that the front office loved Dion and it wasn't strictly a Byron Scott choice. I question the validity of that "insiders" source on espn.com.

You think Noel can be effective handling the big boys at 206lbs? I like what he could bring when he gets healthy but I'm concern if he would be able to hold his own against beef in the paint.

Anthony Davis isn't much bigger. Noel hasn't been able to work out. He'll be up to 220 or 230 in 6-9 months, and then it won't be an issue. How much did Marcus Camby weigh when he was a young player?

Davis was 222lbs heading into the NBA and Camby was listed at 220 in college. I'm sure Noel could pack on 20lbs as he gets to work out but will always have that slim wiry frame with limited offensive skills. I think he'll be a solid player in the association but not sure he's a no brainer at #1 imho. If I'm the Cavs I'll do my due diligence on trade offers and try to get Porter or Bennett and then look for a Dieng/Withey type that could give you the same defensive production that Noel could provide.

Waiters to the Celtics.

Don't be surprised when it happens.

For what Rondo or Bradley? No way Cleveland is going to give up a 1st team all-rookie for nothing. The Celtics assets are Jeff Green, Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, Fab Melo, Jared Sullinger. No chance he ends up in Boston unless its a 3-way deal involving Rondo.

A Irving, McLemore, Waiters backcourt would have the potential to be amazing, but that's probably stacking the deck too much in one position and leaving too many holes elsewhere.

I could see Waiters being an awesome instant offense 6th man, in the Jamal Crawford, JR Smith, Jason Terry role.

But it's so early in his career...his ceiling could still be higher than that, so I wouldn't want to see him put in that box too early.

While Fab Melo still has "raw potential"

Trade Melo, Bradley and Crawford (spark plug) to Cleveland for waiters and a late draft pick?

Cavs should take Noel and let him rehab next year, tank again, get into the lottery again and get one of the 4-5 absolute studs coming out next year and make a run...after adding Lebron from the FA market...

Who guards the 3 on the other team if Kyrie, Dion, and McLemore are on the floor together?

I agree that this would be a nice 3 guard rotation. But why is everyone assuming that if the Cavs draft McLemore that he'll start? Maybe McLemore comes off the bench as a rookie. The Cavs get an idea of how he and Dion play as a tandem and when Irving inevitably gets hurt again the Cavs still have a good backcourt.

Celtics are not and will not trade Bradley, they love him.

They would trade him in the right package, but I wouldn't consider Dion Waiters the right package and I like DW. Bradley got exposed in the playoffs as a guy who can't play PG, but he is a great defender and shoots well enough that he can play SG. I could see Bradley traded in the offseason for the right player. I stated before the deal that was rumored in Boston was Bradley/Paul Pierce's expiring contract for Eric Gordon and maybe it could be expanded to include Boston 16th overall pick and throw in Doc Rivers son Austin who struggled real bad as a rookie.

Cavs take Noel and Lebron resigns with Cleveland in a few years. Imagine Noel and James with a back court of Irving and Waiters, with Miami getting older it might be the way to go for Lebron to win his titles.

Missed this when I posted before...but it could be a real option for James

I don't think this will happen. As long as James in in Miami the top FA will always flock there and there will be another situation where wade/bosh quality players take pay cuts to play with him and win titles. James won't need to move back to Cleveland when Wade gets too old. He'll have resumes and applications of all stars lining up to play with him.
