Mt. Carmel (1-1) at Providence (2-0)
Time: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox
Results so far: Mt. Carmel lost to St. Joseph's (Penn.) 28-27; Providence beat Joliet Catholic 21-10
Players to watch: AJ Duerig, Mt. Carmel OG, Sr. (Syracuse commit); Kevin Thurmon, Mt. Carmel DE, Sr.; Miles Boykin, Providence WR, Sr. (Notre Dame commit); Nate Vejvoda, Providence TE, Sr. (Iowa commit)
Mt. Carmel outlook: While there isn't much experience back on offense, AJ Duerig is part of an offensive line that looks very impressive so far in paving the way for running backs Jaquan Buntyn and A.J. Lewis. However, the Caravan will only go as far as their stout defense can take them.
Providence outlook: Miles Boykin and Nate Vejvoda provide as good of a receiving duo as you'll see in the state, but they're not the only threats in the Celtic passing attack. Defensively, Providence relies on its big D-line to stuff the run; the Celtics held Joliet Catholic to 51 rushing yards in the season opener.
