Duke Kickoff : 12 PM / ACC Network

Biggest restaurant night of the year probably for the city.
As I’ve mentioned, all of the remaining games will be at noon except for North Carolina.. Good year for restaurant busuness.

They do at schools where they take tailgating and football seriously.
Schools that take tailgating seriously get up pre-dawn and start tailgating at 7:30. Bloody Mary's and egg sandwiches.
I have a lot of family members who went to VaTech, and I've been to a bunch of games there. A healthy tailgate scene before noon isn't a problem in Blacksburg.
The hard-core tailgaters get it done regardless of the game time.
SU could have a lot for RVs to facilitate tailgating, but it's never really been a big priority for enough fans to do that.

How nice that the revised ACC $ compensation agreement relies on TV viewership…. and we get a parade of nooners.
Except we've been complaining about this issue since the days of Dave Sims and the Big East game of the week

And the UNC game is on Halloween night which means I have to make memories with my little kids before I get to the game late.

Speaking of Duke. Does anyone know why tickets on the secondary market are so high for the Duke game right now? $80 to get in.

Parents weekend. They said only 1000 remain at the game Friday night.

When we went to LSU back in 2017, I asked the guy who was our host for his amazing tailgate, on what time he got there to set up. He replied 5:00. I said this morning? He replied 5:00pm on Thursday.

Maybe they will wear alternate uniforms for a noon kickoff so the board can collectively melt down.

The traditional time for College football is 3:30 or a night kick. The Noon slot has gained steam the last 5-7 years but it's never been a time programs wanted or desired. There's a reason the OSU fanbase is in open revolt over all the Noon kicks.

I’d want to see some actual data that supports the idea the noon slot has gained steam over the last 5-7 years -at least in a way that’s relevant to Syracuse. I recall many breakfast tailgates over the last 30 years - it’s not just the last 5 years.

If there’s any trend, it’s that more of the “bigger” games are getting shifted to noon where it used to be lots of lesser games. Since we’ve mostly been the lesser games for at least 25 years (sadly…) - if that trend is legitimate it likely hasn’t effected us much.

SU needs people to run the games. You think the drivers would rather be driving at 11am or 11pm? Same for the parking people.

Noon sucks. Why is it so hard to get a 330 or 7? Four of the first five games start at noon. Thats ridiculous
Those times are generally reserved for teams having good seasons. We’ll have trouble getting good slots with a .500 record.

That was my point, that for TV Noon starts have gain traction for bigger games then 15-20 years ago when save from some one offs most of the Noon games were dregs with big games at 3:30 and night.

Syracuse was bad when the Noon starts were the rage for bad teams so we got a bunch. Now that were improved were still getting a lot of noon starts because our games are usually fairly decent and were not a bottom feeder ( you even saw this the last few years of the Dino era).

It's no coincidence that the SU vs Miami game got a 3:30 kick last year. Both teams had really good records and the ACC wanted to showcase that game a bit. SU's problem is that they also like SU for mid size matchups that draw viewers. See last years Ga-Tech and VA-tech games, both decent matchups that got prime Noon kicks. SU's stuck in a weird spot where they're not elite enough to get the night kicks but not nearly bad enough to get the CW 4pm kicks either.

Could be worse. Utah, hosting Texas Tech in a huge game, kicks off at 10A local time. Good thing Utah isn’t a party place
