Duke QB is picked 6th in NFL draft. The world is upside down...

Haskins going to a division rival really won’t help if it turns out he’s the better QB.

On the bright side, that owner of that division rival is the King Midas of the NFL. But instead of gold, everything he touches turns to dogsh.it

If looks and mannerisms count for anything, then this guy is Eli 2.0

What makes its even worse is that there is no doubt Jones would've been available at #17. And that's not second guessing, that's first guessing. Drew Lock is still available. Don't see much difference between the 2, in fact I like Lock better. And then they take an interior lineman that's more fit to play in the 80's and trade up to take the 3rd best DB. Don't get it.

I think he would have been available at 30 if they wanted to swing back into the 1st round. I never rip the player as they must have a reason but when you can get said player later - that is a problem. Raiders need to learn the same lesson.

and how are any of these guys not named Murray a better prospect than Rosen?

If he were an actor, he'd be cast to play Eli Manning in a biopic.

This pick was a massive overreach by Gettleman and Mara. Shows how much pull the Manning's truly have in the organization. Jones would have been available at 17, 30 and the second round if they were intent on getting a QB. Who knows if Haskins pans out, but if he does, the division rival got him which will be salt in Giants fans wounds for the next five plus years. Easily the biggest blunder of the draft. Your Round 1 picks have to count for something. Should have drafted Josh Allen or Ed Oliver at six, then get Lawrence at 17.

This reminds me of the dumb move by Doug Marrone and the Bills when they thought they needed to draft EJ Manuel with the 16th pick. They were the only ones who thought they did something awesome
And ironically this year our Jones pick gifted Allen to Jacksonville/Marrone/Couglin and Oliver to Buffalo.

He "completed" almost as many passes to our DBs as he did to his receivers.

I think draft result rankings that fail to take into account trades from last year kind of miss the boat. For instance, if you listed the results of their 1st round pick in the 2019 draft for Chicago (Mack), Cleveland (Beckham) and Dallas (Cooper), they should likely get the highest grades.

Of course, they may have had Intel that someone was going to make a move to get Jones, or maybe Cincy really liked him as the back up to Dalton. Or maybe that had that information and it was a false trap. We don't know what the GMs know.
It will be a good or bad pick depending on production.

Sounds like a bunch of people who didn't see Jones walk off the field in the senior bowl.

Gettleman saw it. He's no dummy.

You don't need SU glasses to see that Dungey is better choice than Jones.
I am not a scout, but I don't see Dungy as other than a 3rd team, maybe 2nd at best, QB. His throwing is not consistent enough at this time.

It's a bad pick off of the strength that there is a "three-year plan" with a high possibility of him not touching the field at all this season. This is from Gettleman himself. Unlike Favre and Rodgers, Favre was still putting up good numbers and contributing on a high level, so you couldn't supplant him for Aaron. Eli is far removed from his prime and if he weren't a Manning, he wouldn't be on that team anymore. You need to get guys you can plug in and play right away given the attrition on both sides of the ball. If you aren't going to go QB, get a defensive player who can get thrown in from Day 1.

I agree but have u seen Jones play. I would take Dungey over Jones any day. Honestly shocked he got drafted at all.

He's a schmuck but he did a really good job last night and I hate them.
