Despite how bad he has been hammered these last few weeks he has always given us our best chance to win. It started after hunt was injured and proved true as his backups couldn’t quite get us there when he was often injured.

Today has likely shown that his streak of being our best option has ended.

I hope that as posters reflect they recognize that this kid put his butt on the line for us for 4 years and did everything that was asked of him. He may not have finished as strong as he started but this kid has made this program better since he arrived.

I am all good with the way his play has been criticized, but I believe he has been given too much criticism with the teams overall performance. Today Tommy provided a spark not too different than how we felt after we got our first glimpse of Dungey. We should be. It’s excited and appreciative in my opinion.

Dungey is an amazing competitor. Unfortunately his body couldn’t hold up. That’s the risk reward of laying it all in the line. Truly grateful for his effort as he kept us sinking to UConn and Rutgers depths. But we have to turn the corner and win this season.

Three years ago, my daughter went with me to the game at UVA where Dungey was superb and made an incredible leap of a defender. She chatted with me about that game earlier today. He's kept many of us inspired these four years and nothing that happens now diminishes my appreciation for Eric Dungey. He's been a big part of our reappearance in college football and is one of my heroes.

Just noticed on the highlights, after the winning TD pass, Dungey does about a 4.4 40 to get to Devito to congratulate him on the field.
