The first XFL didn't either and Tommy Maddox earned himself an NFL Contract with the Steelers and eventually took them to the playoffs and was their QB until Ben was drafted.

Ya if you play well you can get a chance just not sure how long this league lasts. If I were Eric id be looking at the CFL. It's actually somewhat legit football.

We'll see. I'm sure lessons have been learned. McMahon has invested a lot of money in it this time around. Why write something off before it gets started?

Because it's failed many times before. Vince is a great businessman what he's done with the wwe is incredible but these leagues don't work. Im as big a football fan as there is I watch about 20 hours worth each weekend and these other leagues are unwatchable. The only reason Vince is doing this is because his ego is the size of Texas.

Like Joe Namath in that panty hose commercial back in the day. It had me fooled and then I felt de4cidedly squemish.

Love Eric Dungey but he isn’t a pro QB.
He is an athlete who played QB in college.
If he wants to play pro ball go to the XFL and play TE or RB.
He can make plays with his toughness.
He can’t drop back 20-30 times in the pro game and run the offense well.

I will root for him in this league but wish he wouldn’t play QB in it.

This XFL will last atleast 2 years unlike the Alliance.
The XFL paid Oliver Luck 10 million dollars to be its commissioner.
Vince McMahon put 100 million dollars into a 12 month CD to give the league money to cover expenses for 2 years. They didn’t rush to start like the alliance did.

It has ESPN and Fox as TV partners which helps get legitimate ratings.
If they don’t try to overtake the NFL which will never happen the country could use a spring developmental league for people to get FB fix.

These leagues just don't succeed. We have seen it numerous times.

We haven't seen one like this with this much traction however... Football fans are begging for an alternative to the NFL and this may finally be it. Unfortunately I think the AAF could have succeeded as well but they rushed the entire process to beat the XFL to the punch and failed as a result.

The AAF had good TV coverage and solid ratings. There is demand for this like it or not. USFL is probably still in existence of a certain someone didn’t kill it by moving to a fall schedule.

Dungey isn’t going from the XFL to the NFL, even if he plays in the XFL and has a good season

The XFL might exist 10 yrs from now and exist is about all it will do. It’s going to do absolutely nothing to the NFL.

There’s certainly a demand for it. It’ll be nice to have an alternative in the off-season.

Whether or not ED wants to go, you do whatever you want dude. And good luck doing it, I’ll always wish the best for him.
