I know Eric is currently actively pursuing his NFL dreams and I truly hope he succeeds. With that said, what would be the chances we bring him on the staff and have the most successful player and leader in Dino's tenure ( yes I realize that isn't exactly a gold medallion yet) on the sidelines? He has everything I think you would want in young asst being from the program, someone the kids will look up to and extremely smart. Not to mention one h e l l of a competitor.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before but just seems given the mess we are dealing with, that bringing the former fearless leader back to the sidelines could be a nice small puzzle piece and lend itself to benefits in the future as well.

He was planning on doing radio broadcasts before he headed to Cleveland.

Maybe he's more interested in broadcasting than being a GA on the sidelines.

It wouldn't hurt to ask him.

What Dungey was great at can’t be taught: heart and guts.

Plus, I never thought he was regarded as having strong mechanics.

Eric is the QB on the Browns practice squad which means he is in play in the NFL and could get a chance to get into a game and then who knows what happens. Of course, Giants fans want to poopo his chances because they had him and let him go as they have used a 1st round pick on Jones and don't want to come out with egg on their faces if Dungey excels in the League.

I like the thought but don't know if he has any interest. Worth a call if the NFL doesn't work out.

Speaking of QB Coaches, Anyone remember G-Robs greatest hire, good ole Major Applewhite as his QB Coach?

Just callin'um as I see'um.

Too soon. I think you need a 2 year gap.

In a couple years maybe.

While it's probably not going to happen, it's not a bad idea at all given that he was arguably the leader of the team last year.

Not the leader of the offense, the leader of the team.

That sort of leadership has been sorely lacking on this year's squad. And I have no inside information about the supposed work-ethic/commitment issues that some have surfaced.

Leadership within the team cannot be overestimated as a component of success.

Well, show me a post where a Giants fan was trash talking ED.
One illustrious poster, who will go unnamed suggested that he was only there to give Clevelands D practice against a running threat QB. That could be true, but there is no way to substantiate that as a fact. There are other back handed swipe, by another G fan that ED isn't NFL QB material. That poster shall also go, unnamed.

Currently an analyst at Alabama. Guessing he won't take a cut in pay to move back North.

This, in no way, tells me that "Giants fans want to poopo his chances because they had him and let him go as they have used a 1st round pick on Jones and don't want to come out with egg on their faces if Dungey excels in the League."

What color is the sky in your world?

It's not Big Blue, that's for sure.

He hated the radio gig, I’m glad he got scooped up by Cleveland.

In general, I don’t think great players make great coaches.

he was just doing that as a part time gig while he was here finishing up his degree (which I still think he didn’t finish because of the browns call).

Maybe down the road right now he has a pro career to worry about.

I chalk him up to being as much a leader as a player. In all honesty my thought was less about X's and O's and more about bringing someone else in who the guys would look up to and represents at least a part of what is missing with this team right now. With a group that looks like it has quit on Dino at times this year, having a guy who refused to ever do as much can't hurt to have as many of those around as possible. Not to mention being the only QB around who spent 3 years on the field executing this offense.
