Sorry, man. I still have to take Tebow. While Dungey played on a broken foot, Tebow played on a broken leg. Ran it in for a 20 yard TD, no less. Check the X-ray. Granted, neither would tap out, til they died. It would be a celebrity death match.I say we set up The Octagon in NBT Stadium and let them settle the dispute once and for all
I don’t know what that means.Tebow played the next game.
We were talking Tebow. There are plenty of NFL QB's who never threw to an NFL WR in college. Too many to count. If the NFL thinks you're good enough, you'll get a shot.
Right. My point is, that tebow could have had Dungey's supporting cast, and still likely gets drafted. Because he's better. We were talking Tebow.
It means that when Eric got knocked out, he was usually on the shelf. When Tebow Christ got knocked out, he arose, and played the next week.I don’t know what that means.
I was not debating whether or not Tebow is better. The OP was about supporting cast and hiebut affects how players are viewed.Right. My point is, that tebow could have had Dungey's supporting cast, and still likely gets drafted. Because he's better.
That’s an impossible argument to make. Who is tougher! I got thrown 60 feet from a motorcycle and hit the pavement. I got up and walked away. Somebody else gets killed. See the difference? Too many variables. It means that when Eric got knocked out, he was usually on the shelf. When Tebow Christ got knocked out, he arose, and played the next week.
I was illustrating his toughness. Like I said earlier...NFL GM's are not investing money in a QB who missed nearly a full season of football unless he's got something special. Tebow proved much more durable, and his health was not a red flag like it likely was with Eric.
I didn't make an argument that I felt either was tougher. My argument had to do with how NFL GM's view Dungey at the next level compared to Tebow. Of course they will see a guy who has missed nearly a full season in 4 years as a major risk. They won't see that in Tebow because all he put on tape is winning, and missing 1 start in 4 years. That’s an impossible argument to make. Who is tougher! I got thrown 60 feet from a motorcycle and hit the pavement. I got up and walked away. Somebody else gets killed. See the difference? Too many variables.
I agree with you there.I was not debating whether or not Tebow is better. The OP was about supporting cast and hiebut affects how players are viewed.
And I’ll go one further. Give Dungey Tebow’s cast, and Dungey probably gets drafted. That’s what we were discussing.
What about having multiple different OC's and coaches and offensive systems? Quite often an int is on the receiver who didn't run the right play.Tebow threw 15 interceptions in 53 games. Dungey, 30 in 39. Tebow, less than a 30% chance of throwing a pic, per game, Dungey, more than 75%. I can't blame nearly triple the ints entirely on the supporting cast. Yes, Dungey had 30% more attempts, but the most accurate passer in college history(at that point) would still be more accurate with switching casts.
Anyone can be legendary with the teams he had around him. Same garbage with all those USC qbs who were a joke besides Palmer.Yeah, look, we need to be honest here.
As college QBs go, Tebow was legendary.
Dungey was legendary to us, but that's where it ends.
I'd say, because Dungey and Tebow played with the same kind of heart. I think most would agree.why are you guys doing this
why are you guys doing this

I haven't really seen the central issue addressed: How much of the difference between Tebow's achievements and Dungeys are attributable to the players around him?
What would Tebow's record look like if he'd been the QB of the 2015-18 Syracuse teams? Would Dungey have been been able to accomplish something similar to what Tebow did if he had quarterbacked the 2006-2009 Florida teams? Would we have been significantly better? Would they have significantly worse?
