Early Thoughts

12 tubas. There were only 10 for UConn. Saw 12 consistently on preseason posts from the SU sousaphone Instagram account so this is a good thing.

SUMB sounds solid. Better fully dry.

The beautiful young coed who led the singing of the NA and alma mater is back. Still has a great voice. She has been joined by a young man who also can sing well. He looks like the cowboy Woody in Toy Story but the man can sing.

Small crowd early.

Not much maroon in the house. Probably a big cheese and wine party in Hamilton today.

That said, they have at least 10 times what UConn brought to the dome.

Colgate’s football players look unusually small compared to Syracuse.

Didn’t see any unexpected injuries for SU on warmups.

The students have done a good job wearing white but there aren’t many a few minutes before kickoff and the rest of the fans have largely elected not to participate. For the record, I am wearing a white SU shirt.

Two of Angeli's first five passes were very bad - scary stuff. Colgate didn't take advantage of them but better teams will. After that, I was impressed with his accuracy.

Great to see so many of the younger players get in for plays and doing well. Hill looked really good at RB.

Glad Collins finally got in. Bad first series, but glad Fran put him in again and he did much better.

Carney got in before Jakhari, I don't like that, but great for Carney!
