Easiest no brainer way to make this suck less - play Betsey

Thanks Tyler Betseys Uncle. Betsey is one of the two worst rated players on the team. He’s 6’8”, and stands outside chucking 3s all game. He does little else. Playing him more ain’t saving this team

It doesn't matter, but I'm with Millhouse on this.

Betsey is a horrible rebounder? His rebounds-per-minutes played ratio is better than JJ, Kingz, and George, and just a bit behind Sadiq.

Weeks ago Betsey should have been inserted as a starter at the 3 and Kingz moved to the 2. Hell, I'd have given JJ minutes as a backup 1 along with a little at the 2. Kiyan would have been stapled to the bench for all but 6-8 minutes a game, maybe less.

They may very well decide to bring him in via the portal because they are going to be looking for a player of Karaban size that can knock down 3s and hope to develop other parts of his game. They did offer Betsey, but with what we saw with the facebook situation, they probably decided to not go all in on bringing that dynamic into the picture. Betsey dad would have to keep his thoughts to himself. Hurley has been on record on how much they are evaluating the family and willingness to trust the coaches during recruiting.

Nah. UConn is a selector school and they're only bringing in ~4 kids a year from high school. Plus, Hurley seems leery of many CT players, since their entourage would have a lot of access in Storrs.

He made a token offer to Abdou Torre from ND West Haven, but clearly wasn't all in on him. Meanwhile Calipari went all out to get him at Arkansas. Does that mean Torre isn't "any good"?

Don't agree with that. He's been our 2nd or third best player. The FT shooting is the only thing he doesn't do well which seems fluky this year. He should've been the 2 guard from the start.

And while Betsey isn't great on D we probably have a better chance at outscoring teams with him playing.

Seriously. We stopped playing defense 2 months ago. We're giving up 81 points per game in conference play.

I recall way back in the 2000s, Boeheim made some late season changes to the starting lineup in a desperate attempt to close strong and win the BET. It didn't work, and it came wayyyy too late, but it was worth a shot.

If Red was remotely competent he'd do something like that. Alas...

I almost cannot believe his game plan was to just role the ball out and try to play "our" game against a vastly more talented Duke team. Try SOMETHING different, please.
