Beginning in 2030 (or some date certain), the CFB playoff will be 8 teams. Those teams will be the winners of the six or seven highest rated conferences and one or two of the ahighest rated independents, determined by analytical data, not polls. (The numbers are malleable.) No conference can have more than one participant.
All conferences receive the same payout. How they divide it is up to the conference. If they want to reward champions, that’s up to them. The 10 (or some #) of independents get the same amount to divide equally.

Good idea if you can set the time machine back a few decades and make the NCAA a non-toothless institution.
