Eddie Lampkin in the portal

Every step he takes, every move he makes, every time he prays he’ll be pounding you.

Apparently these schools don't know the situation they are going to be in with his negotiating tactics and how poor his defense is if he does get another year.
Who cares about his negotiating tactics? Nothing wrong with asking for more money if you think you can get it. Us agreeing to bring him in even with the raised price tag is the questionable move, not him negotiating for more money when he had interest from other schools who were able to offer more cash.

What I don't get is how these schools are this interested when he might not even be allowed to play another year.

They're focused on that eye-popping rebounding p.g. stat -- same as we are focused on stats like Kingz's three point shooting percentage.

I won’t miss his offense but Eddie was as elite a rebounder as we have had in years. Going to need to be a much better rebounding team next year. A healthy Donnie will help but Davis and Petar, in limited minutes, were also very good on the boards.
Huh. His offense wasn’t the problem. The issue was his inability to be a rim protector/defensive backstop and to defend the pick and roll.

Not a bad idea to get a text or two in, just in case.

We agree completely, but I am saying I think as a team we can be just as good offensively, but concerned more about replacing his rebounding effectiveness.

yeah i didnt love that at all but he does play hard even though it wasnt what we needed. I liked watching him play.

eddie lumpkin gaveth away far more underneath than he ever taketh. dude softer than that spare tire around his waist he brought to camp .
softer than a kashmere kitten for all the kash he got. took us nowhere while insisting on #44 . what a joke. previous two carried us to the NCAA finals . you're biggest accomplishment . BBQRIBS .

This year wasn't much fun.

BUT I did enjoy for the first time in seemingly forever that we could outrebound other teams. Eddie was a big part of that.
But his unwillingness to show or hedge on screens was the biggest issue with our defense. We gave up so many easy curls and 15 footers. It was tough to watch.

What does that have to do with my post?

I said that I appreciated his rebounding, after decades of us getting destroyed on the glass by every team that made an effort.
