Electric back Jawhar Jordan is Dave Boller’s parting gift to Syracuse football

I'm gonna pat myself on the back. Based on a run against Duke where he ran through some tackles, I made a comparison between Jordan and Dunn on here a week or two ago.
And all those things had they found ways to use him this year we wouldn't have missed a bowl game.

Mike Lynch said on the radio a few weeks ago Jordan is much more than just a speed back. He can run over guys too according to Lynch. Oline has to be ready for week 1. Next years team has weapons just need the rinos to step up.
That is another reason Lynch needs to be gone, he should have found ways to get Jordan in the game. One great run in a game could have changed the early season.

You think he was as ready early in the year as he was late in the year? You think he would've looked as good when the oline was a complete mess as opposed to when it started to look functional which is when he got his carries?

The thing is... he's fast enough he might have made the line look better.

An opinion on how “Babers feels about people who leave the program” without first hand knowledge is weird
I'm just trying to make sense of the fact that he wants to come back, it sounds like he did a great job last time he was here, we have the money to hire him back thanks to John Lally and yet he's still looking for a job.

Maybe. I don't think Adams is slow and he is bigger with more experience and he had a hard time getting past the LOS. I'm glad we didn't burn a redshirt year on a guy that plays a position we had a bunch of depth in that relies on an oline to be functional to not get hit at or behind the LOS all of the time. Next year the oline will be better and hopefully the QB will be better, so we can consistently see what he has.

He could have been used as a receiver, and would have been better returning kicks. We need to find ways to get him the ball.

I see where we needed to get him on the field. I know our playbook not is bid but 5-6 plays a game any modified player can remember

Or gotten the QB hurt/knocked out earlier in the season as the result of a missed blitz pickup. Mastery of the protection packages not lack of knowledge of the playbook is typically what limits young rb’s.

Not sure if this was the case and I agree that a 5 or 6 play package should be able to be handled by a frosh rb but history says Babers tends to prioritize rb’s who are good in protection since they also appear to make some of the line calls.

Ehh...the coaches know when a guy is ready being there every day. If he belonged on the field game 1, he would have been there. Line calls, reading defense, blitz pickup, 3 established rbs in front of him.

So we get him on the field by making him learn two positions as a freshman. He was supposed to figure out line calls and pass protection behind a porous oline and learn route running that he has little experience with?

We will, and probably have, found ways to get him the ball... next year.

This may be the one downside of the 4 game rule. Fans see snapshots of freshman that show flashes of greatness and assume they are ready for a full time gig.

Not much of a downside. We do that anyway, with kids who haven't played 4 games.

I hear you - we just don’t have that intel. One of those topics that makes it hard to guess at without all of the info.
