Elmore Impact This Season

if my memory serves me right, I think there was one game where elmore graded out the highest on the OL.

aka - “Tallest midget”.

Being the least awful OL last year for 1 game is damning with faint praise.

Definitely an interesting question as to what we do with Rhino this season, but I wonder about the offense after Rhino.

We don't have another player on the roster like him or that fills in what he does.

Are we just not replacing that?
I’ve thought of that too. Maybe Mang fills that role or any FB type on the team. Could be a walk on. In the past they used D lineman on short yardage and goal line plays. Then you have guys like Chase Simmons who showed the same skills in HS. He is a taller more athletic version of Elmore but I don’t know if the staff would use him there though.

Elmore is a complete wild card that can unbalance a defence. Teams don't really bite on our 3 or 4 wide motion sets because we've shown no ability to hurt them. Elmore as a lead blocker or in back field pass pro adds some questions on presnap reads for the defence though. Extremely interested what weight they have him at for preseason as could well tell coaches intent. If he's at 260-265 Vs 290 his mobility would increase massively. That said, if you want a big to carry the rock I'd have to think Hough is the guy.

I'd like to see the staff utilize him at one position, where he can potentially excel. I've never understood the value of having him be subpar, simultaneously, at so many different positions.

You can't break Rhinos neck. That's silly. The helmet uses his neck for protection
