EMU parts ways with Rob Murphy / hires Stan Heath

Who was murph the primary recruiter on when he was here?

Donte’ Greene, DaShonte Riley, Kris Joseph, and pretty sure he was responsible for getting Wes Johnson here.

Yeah I think he recruited a lot of the Forwards, pretty solid group although we've obviously needed more help with the bigs over the years. Regardless, he'd be a logical replacement in the chance one of the assistants leaves for a low HC job

Last time EMU made the tourney I think was when Earl Boykin was there right? That has to be 3-4 coaches ago...

Pretty much a dead end if he comes back to Cuse. He'd never take over here after having a 164-153 record at EMU. I'm thinking head coach at a MAAC or Patriot League school to get his feet under him again.

I'm not sure he could revive it but love to see him take a shot at the Binghamton job. It's still got the Broadus GTown stink but its a good school with a nice venue and the school continues to grow and invest more.

As opposed to our current assistants?

Or Albany. Last I knew, his wife is a pretty big TV host in Syracuse. Probably would be better for the family if they were closer together.

I believe they are divorced. She never went to EMU with him.

I would see Rob almost every week flying into Syracuse when I was traveling for work. Any time I’d connect through Detroit, he was usually on my DTW —> SYR leg on Thursday nights. This was back around 2016-2017 timeframe, but I can only assume he was coming home to visit his then wife. I never talked personal stuff with him - always hoops. But a super nice guy and always recognized me when I saw him.

Hope he gets another opportunity somewhere.

Does his wife still work in Syracuse? I know they were commuting back and forth for a while there.
