Eric Dungey's 10 Most Memorable Plays

There was a play against Wake Forest in his first game where he broke a nice run and then lateraled it to someone before he got tackled. I remember thinking he looked like a kid who had a special knack for making plays after that one.

the one thing that gets lost with all these highlight plays, are the things you don't hear. Meaning... kid couldn't finish a year, coaching changes, and he just maintained his course with class. From all accounts he has the respect from the entire team and I know if the university emp, lyres. Just a great kid who's parents s deserve much credit.

The first Dungey episode that opened my eyes was the pass to Bris his freshman year against Wake Forest followed closely by the near brawl at BC his sophomore year. What a competitor!

His freshman year when he threw that dime to bris and then when he lateraled the ball like he was playing backyard football, you just don’t see freshman QBs make those kind of plays around here at that time. That’s when I was thinking, wow this kid is different!

The hurdle at UVA for the TD is the signature play of his career.
That was my first game seeing him live. It happened on the Cuse fan side of the field. I remember bringing a friend with me to the game and before the game started I was telling him how exciting Dungey was to watch. After that play my buddy looked me and smirked. Didn't say a word.

You can really see how much he has physically developed since then.

Yes, it was a memorable play - one that signaled that he was going to be special.

I was sitting in the endzone with my buddy - a UVA fan - and Eric ran right at us.

He played great all game and should have gotten the win - still a tough loss for me.

The leap over the UVA defender may be the signature play of his career.

He was also courteous enough to do it in front of the section that most of the board tailgate was sitting

Eric's first throw to the endzone against Rhode Island. The Orange were around the Rams 40 and Al Cornelius goes to the endzone after the play broke down in double coverage, he shifts direction a little and both DB's are facing away from Dungey who was scrambling for time. ERic then throws the ball on a rope right behind the closer DB and Al jumped out to make what should have been an easy catch that hit him in the hands and he dropped it. Right then I new he had vision and ability. He also led the Orange to a rout in that game which was his first game as a true freshman.

The upset of Clemson last year. The almost 80-yard rushing TD when he was chugging down the sideline and the last guy got him. So close. Then the touchdown strike to Ish a couple plays later and then the scramble and lunge for the first down to seal it. 6:12-6:55 and 10:17 of this video:
