From my ESPN buddy...

"If you cut the cord and still want to watch live sports you get ESPN+. That will act as your login for the app. You won't need a cable 'script if you pay the $5/month through ESPN+

Which saves you like $3 a month because it is $8 a month within your cable 'script."

Just replied on the hoops board as well, but your ESPN buddy is mistaken. You still need a cable subscription to watch anything that airs on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or SEC Network. ESPN+ is all additional content to that.

Ah. I think he just didn't fully explain it to me. Because you're right.

So to me this all seems... not worth it lol

If you have spectrum like I do they will probably charge 2 or 3 times that rate somehow so they make their profit

You still cannot watch the channels that are also on cable without a subscription. Blackouts still apply. It's hilarious watching these TV companies flounder when it comes to streaming.

The best deal for sports fans is Sling TV's Orange + Blue package bundle ($45 a month) with the sports package add-on ($5 a month). You can find VPNs for under $3 a month to work around blackouts. Sling lets you login to WatchESPN. For $53 a month you can watch all the sports you want legally without excessively expensive cable bills.

Or you can just stream for free online. The quality of free streams has increased drastically in the past couple years and you only have to pay your internet bill.

as a ILDN user wonder what this means. really hate the streaming business model and the feeds issues.

the other big issues is that the league plays so many OC games in sports you still cant watch alot of stuff.
