ESPN: Majority says SU won't lose until Marquette

Ha!! Just one person said it will be against NC State. Guess who that was.

Dana O'Neil: Dec. 17 at NC State. The Orange are good, very good, but haven't been tested at all. The farthest they've traveled from their Dome home is to New York City, not exactly a hostile environment. More than that, Syracuse's bread and butter has been its defense, but in the Wolfpack, it meets a team that takes smart shots. NC State shoots 47 percent from the floor. The combination of the top ranking, their first true road game and a better-than-expected Wolfpack team will end the Orange's undefeated run.

Dana O'neil saying we'll lose is actually a good omen...

She's right up there with Doyel on the clueless-meter...

Pretty sure none of these have much effect in a basketball game.

Playing on the road doesn't have an effect in a basketball game?

Or just that it's their first, as opposed to second, third, etc? Probably agree with that, since we don't rely a lot on freshmen who haven't played in a road game before.

Egad ,,, most of them are saying that marquette will knock us off,,, IN THE DOME!! We got payback time for last year besides.

I meant your second point... like she's implying the first road game will be 5 v. 6. I think playing in MSG on ESPN vs. two quality BCS programs in the midst of the Fine allegations were pretty good tests.

I think marquette will finish 2nd or 3rd in the BE. Leaning towards 2nd cuz i still dont feel like Lville is #4 but time will tell

I think Marquette is a win for us... Last year they were a bad matchup for us this year they could be a good one.

1. isn't it a home game?
2. We return all four backcourt players(Kjo). They are much faster. They are getting shots easier inside the arc and will get their perecentage back up to where it was last year eventually.
3.Also our guards are much better defenders. Much faster, get a hand out when playing defense really well, and are extending the zone (something we didn't only not do last year but somethign were really good at this year).
Kjo also looks a step quicker on the wing.

4. We have Melo and some low post game. Better to have low post against MU typically. CJ is going to learn to take offensive boards back out and reset the offense over time. Plus we have Xmas, he might foul but his offensive boards are going to grow over time. And we have MCW's height as a guard in the paint.

5. Marquette is a ways away and this team is going to grow maybe easily more then any team in the country as the year goes along. Our team is so much different from last year especially without Rick its not even funny.

As one of them mentioned we're going to be favored in every game up to @L'ville. I think they're just saying Marquette because they don't want to say we'll be undefeated into Feb. and that's the best team we play between now and then. I'll bet when the time comes to play the game half of them will pick us to win.

We're not losing to Marquette again this year. Not once.

The NC State crowd will be mostly orange. It will be like a neutral site game.
