Jay Williams makes the stupid remark that UNC is playing better than Syracuse late in the season... UNC has beaten no one except an average Duke team & Michigan State EARLY in the season.

The Rav man then asserts Kentucky has been the best team all year... Why are these idiots employed by the biggest sports network in the world, yet they have such little knowledge?

Did Ravech know that Syracuse has better numbers in virtually every category than Kentucky?

BETTER RPI
BETTER SOS
BETTER DEPTH
MORE UPPERCLASSMEN
BETTER CONFERENCE

Kentucky has not played as many good teams with the NCAA caliber strength that Syracuse has played, so how do these clowns stay employed when they continually make these kind of ignorant statements?

I see nothing wrong with what they said. At this point in the season does it really matter? We have achieved our goal of a #1 seed and now just go play. In the end if we are standing and they are not then we were right.

I guess I just dont get worked up over what they say as much as other people do :noidea:

Oh no, we might get left out of the college basketball BCS and get sent to the Orange Bowl.

jay is entitled to his opinion. And it's a fair opinion. kentucky and UNC are very good mantonio.

I think you're being a little overly sensitive
When it comes to ESPN you shouldn't have a sh** to give.
Who cares what the talking heads say?
We do our talking with how we play.

(Lyrics dedicated to Mantonio)

But seriously, I think you can make an argue that both of those statements are true. We haven't exactly looked great lately despite winning, and UNC seems to be getting their crap together. Additionally, Kentucky has been pretty damn good all year. We've been 1 and 2 most of the year, so it's basically six of one, half a dozen of the other. So why can't they discuss that since UK has been #1 for over a month now?

Why?

The fact that you are making posts about them prove what great work they are doing.

All they care is that you watch.

I will give you 15 likes if you rhyme for the rest of the day!

This is the way I look at it. I can be offended every time someone doesn't praise our team on the national media. I can disagree and proclaim a screw job and we're the best team in in the country...but I really don't care because it'll all come out in the next few weeks.

The best team doesn't always win the dance. Kentucky and everybody else has an equal opportunity to have a bad game and go home.

I hope we win it all, but I'm just as likely to be wrong as the talking heads, so I'll watch and see what happens, and hope for the best.

Man that just sounds tough.
Remembering to rhyme can sure be rough.
But I'll do my best to keep it up.
It's a challenge like finding a player without an agent at Rupp.

I wouldnt make it through one day of work with out you man, haha your awesome

Who gives a s____, we'll all find out who the best team in the nation is four weeks from now.

It's likely not even one of those three teams.

There were probably lots of men from Nantucket.
But only one whose...ah, **** it.

UNC has 4 losses, but they did have one big (and recent) road win at Duke. SU hasn't dominated a top 20 team on the road like that recently. I'm not sure if that alone justfies a conclusion that UNC is playing "better" than SU right now, but even if that were true, SU's still been playing better than UNC most of the year.

As far as SU/KY ... their stats are remarkably similar:

RPI - SU #1, Ky #2.
SOS - SU 28, Ky 36
Vs Top 50 - SU 9-1, Ky 8-1
OOC - SU 13-0, Ky 14-1

when they would pass him the rock he would chuck it...

SU hasn't dominated a top 20 road team but it also hasn't lost on the road by 33.

Yes .. and the Fl St. game is one reason why I said we've been playing better the rest of the year.

Must be something off here, since I'm fairly certain SU is perfect OOC.

SU's only loss is in Conference. The OOC record is 13-0.

Exactly right, thank you. corrected the post. We havn't lost a single game OOC, only in coference to ND.

Just testing to see if you guys were paying attn. ;)

It's the lack of respect that Syracuse seems to get every year, despite their achievements. I have no problem with the fans of other teams downplaying Syracuse, because they should be biased for their programs, but the media should set higher standards for themselves, & do their diligence to get the proper information disseminated to the public.

Looking at all the numbers, Syracuse is slightly better than Kentucky right now. We can't measure them head to head yet, so all we have is the compilation of data from their season performance. I notice the pundits didn't put up the charts for these two teams like they do with the bubble teams, showing SOS, RPI, good wins, bad losses, etc...

They also don't mention the fact that Syracuse's only loss was really not the Syracuse team at full strength. Kentucky lost their game at full strength.

I want more in depth analysis than ESPN is providing, & because they are the network most fans watch, they have a responsibility to be the BEST at providing COMPLETE analysis.
