While the price keeps climbing, we have the 4K package which allows us to have unlimited streams in our house.  While that may not be needed for many, during college football season we sometimes have 5 or 6 going at once.

For some NFL games it's handy to use a VPN on our FireTV sticks so that we can use the network apps to see games that aren't shown on our local stations using the FoxTV and CBS sports apps.  Some of our friends are from Michigan and they will sometimes come over so they can see their game(s).

The VPN is also handy when we travel, as the FireTV stick will let us watch our local stations (news, etc.).
YTTV will catch the VPN on a laptop, so that doesn't work.

It's also handy when watching events in the car.  My wife or I will drive while the other can use my iPad Mini to watch a game using my phone as a hotspot with VPN enabled to the necessary location.

While YTTV isn't cheap, being able to virtually record shows and games is very handy.  The "recordings" stay active for up to a year.

The VPN is also handy when I watch some of my Dutch sporting events either on a FireTV stick or my iPad.  The Dutch public TV app or website is fine my VPN usage.
