My husband has wanted to get rid of our COX internet for ever, but knows that is not allowed because I would lose my ACCN access. This morning he is all excited about the new ESPN streaming that was announced and thinks we can rid of Cox Does anyone know if this will include the ACCN?

The unlimited plan will give fans access to all of ESPN’s linear networks – ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ESPN Deportes – in addition to ESPN on ABC, ESPN+, ESPN3, SECN+, and ACCNX, covering 47,000 live events each year, on-demand replays, studio shows, original programming, and more. ESPN’s unprecedented rights portfolio includes the NFL; NBA; NHL; MLB; WNBA; UFC; UFL; SEC; ACC; Big 12; College Football Playoff; 40 NCAA championships including the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship; LaLiga, Bundesliga, NWSL, and FA Cup soccer; Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open tennis; The Masters, PGA Championship, PGA TOUR, and TGL golf; Little League World Series baseball and softball; Premier Lacrosse League; and more. ESPN’s leading studio shows include the iconic SportsCenter, Get Up, First Take, NFL Live, The Pat McAfee Show, Pardon the Interruption, College GameDay, NBA Today, and others, along with on-demand content including 30 for 30 films, ESPN Originals, and more.

Thanks for the heads up! We're gonna be all over this; we have YouTube TV solely for college football. This will save us about $60 a month.

I'm glad I was an early adopter of the ESPN, Hulu, Disney Plus bundle. I get all the above mentioned bundle for $16-17 as opposed to the $30 they are talking about now which still isn't a bad deal.

That bundle doesn’t cover anywhere close to all of those things. At least my bundle that I have, which is the same one. Every time I go to watch something it’s provider only and not part of the bundle. Tried watching the last Knicks game, nope. Not part of the ESPN bundle.

Well don't know what to tell you I get all the ESPN networks except SEC network.

you pretty much have to get Hulu+ live tv to get most everything. It's really the only reason I have the package. About the only thing I miss out on is the Bills game because I am in the Chicago TV region and I get Chicago, Kansas City, Minnesota, Green Bay as defaults.

I get the ad free version with hulu live tv

Sorry if this has been said already.

My wife and I want to dump Spectrum (finally). What options exist to replace so that I don’t lose SU games (Ie Apple TV, YouTube, Hulu etc)? I live in Albany.

I live in the Albany area too, as far as service. Quite a few do so they can add some more updated insight. But I’ve definitely missed some FB and quite a few (especially preseason) BB games by dumping spectrum. I’ve looked at going back, when I dumped spectrum the FB team was just okay and I could justify missing a game here or there. The BB team, for me, become not fun or interesting to watch as it declined and with a kid in soccer, it was easy to miss BB games too. But now that FB is exciting again, every week is a PIA not knowing if everything I subscribe to, if I’ll still have access to a game. When I had spectrum I never missed a game.

Take that for what it’s worth. I dropped spectrum about 4 years ago. Largely because I moved and decided to see how I’d manage without it. I added YTTV but dropped that too 6 months ago or so as prices went up over $25 in the 3+ years I had it. On top of YTTV I still had to have subscriptions to other things to be able to watch the sports I like, especially soccer and cycling.

Given all that, I have no idea what just spectrum cable costs. I still have to use their internet b/c there’s no fiber option where I live. Maybe someone still in a similar situation can provide more current info.

If you don't need YES or SNY, IMHO YouTubeTV (YTTV) is the best package for college sports

I think it about $85 a month right now
Thanks. I think that’s where I’m leaning. Based on 2024, I think the games were on ACCN, ESPN, FS1 and CW. Hopefully my area carries these with YouTube TV

In addition to pricing, the other reason why I want to dump Spectrum is the picture quality stinks for games when you have a larger TV (first world problems).

Yes YouTube TV has all of those, regardless of area. You'll be able to see everything

Just keep in mind you’ll be subject to blackout issues at times. That’s what’s happened to me living in the Albany area. With spectrum you’ll get some channel that will end up showing the game. Not on YTTV though. I had to look for other streaming options and at least 1-2 FB games a season I’ll miss. Sometimes not knowing until I have to mess around with subscription, loading an app, doing that for 3-4 different apps/sites and then realizing I’m out of luck.

Are you in the Albany area? That wasn’t my experience with YTTV for the 3.5 yrs I had it.

I'll put a disclaimer on this that I'm not 100% positive, but it's just my understanding that I don't think the blackouts are factor any longer now that RSNs are out of the picture.

However you will want to make sure your local CW affiliate is carried by YTTV.

I'm in Syracuse but I have YTTV. Those are all national channels, there are no blackout or regionals. The CW ACC games are broadcast nationally. You'll be good to go. Those channels all come on the standard plan and it looks like you have a local CW affiliate on yttv, so you're covered

The one caveat to this is if a game is on ACC Network Extra (probably just the Colgate game, plus some low tier bball games). For that you'll have to use the ESPN app to stream, but you can use your YouTube TV credentials

I think the issues you mention were when the RSN games were still on YES and it was dropped from YTTV. I did have to use a VPN to use WatchESPN for those games but have had no issues since the shift to CW.
