College football Power Rankings: Week 5 reshuffles the playoff possibilities

21. Syracuse (4-1, 1-1 ACC)

i

Week 5 result: Lost to Clemson 27-23
What's next: at Pittsburgh (Saturday, 12:20 p.m. ET, ACCN)

The Orange had a golden opportunity to upset Clemson for the second season in a row and improve to 5-0 for the first time since 1987, but Syracuse couldn't finish the deal on the road. Despite the loss, Syracuse still looks like one of the ACC's three best teams, along with Clemson and Miami. Quarterback Eric Dungey had 250 passing yards and ran for two touchdowns in the loss.

Not a bad analysis. Top three in ACC with Clemson and Miami. Rarified air, feels good!

They are the top team in the ACC. Eric is the best QB in the ACC. Slayton is the best DL in the ACC. Cisco is the best DB in the ACC. Dino is the best coach in the ACC.

And you are the best troll on this forum.;)
Isn't a troll someone who tries to drag things down? Maybe some people here should look in the mirror if they want to see a troll.

This may have been the case if we managed to score one more TD yesterday, but that didn’t happen. To be the best you have to beat the best. They are much closer than anyone thought before the season started.

SU is my fovorite team and I agree with your sentiment; however, Clemson earned the title #1 and we failed tp take it from them yesterday.

They got lucky. Dabo is a lucky man. I do like his dancin' though.

I thought they were who they are before the season.

No. Troll comes from the fishing term for "trolling". When you troll as a fisherman, you just throw out bait(the bait here is outlandish statements), and slowly drag it around the body of water (the body of water in this case is the forum), and just wait for the fish (the fish in this case is the board members) to bite. (The bite would be the response.) The combination of outlandish statements, and the fact that you have twice as many posts as likes is also evidence.
For the record, you didn't hook me clean. I'm only responding to call you out. Man my lip hurts.

Internet troll

In Internet slang, a troll is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internet to distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses and normalizing tangential discussion, whether for the troll's amusement or a specific gain.

Isn't that pretty much what I just said?

Wait... I'm confused. Were you describing CousCuse or yourself?

If someone goes to the game and starts yelling, "let's go Orange", is that trolling. I am always yelling lgo on this forum. I do know a lot of old fuddydud season ticket holders at basketball games frown upon emotional exuberance.

No, that would be supporting your team.

That is all I do here. If people take it as negative, then they should consider their own objectives.

At the risk of staying on topic here is my quick and dirty Week 5 Power Ranking for the ACC and schedule. Just totaling the ranking for total offense, total defense, scoring offense and scoring defense and sorting.

This tells me, barring significant injuries, 7 wins is the min. Lville, UNC, and Pitt are bad, Pitt in Gergian territory.
