ESPN projects our ACC finish as...

I don't have a problem with saying there is good fortune in giving up 14-91 from 3's. But I think that point has to be mitigated at least some - maybe a lot - by the fact that we won every game comfortably up to the F4. That pretty much never happens for your typical "mediocre reg. season team who get hot at the right time". I mean if someone told you before the game that Indiana was going to have a rough shooting night, you'd probably think "cool, instead of a moderate underdog we might be a slight favorite" - maybe like WVU vs Kentucky in the Dome a few yrs ago. It obv. wasn't that close though.

We were an increadibly horrible match up for IU. They basically couldn't really play their starting guards against us because they couldn't see over anyone and then were abused when our bigger guards had the ball. Depot was the only player they seemed to have who could stop any of out guys but Creen didn't put him on MCW until the damage was already done and even that left CJ or James being guarded by someone who couldn't really guard them. Top it all off by a bad game from Zeller against a long, swarming, athletic defense the likes of which he'd never seen. I honestly feel like we would have beaten them pretty easily in a series just because of the match up and of course Creen is horrible in games. Not saying we were an outright better team but we ere about the worst team for them to see.

isn't it curious that one week after ESPN picks Syracuse to finish 4th in the ACC, it releases its national power rankings . . . and has SU the 2nd highest ACC team?

By the conference rankings, it is
1. Duke
2. Virginia
3. UNC
4. Syracuse

but by the power rankings, it is
1. Duke
2. Syracuse
3. UNC
4. Virginia

Grant was a top-40 prospect out of high school, and he inherited Coleman's starting slot after the latter player underwent surgery. Nominally a power forward, Grant never shot the ball as a freshman and was a nonfactor on the defensive glass. Like Coleman, he was also a liability at the line (56 percent).
Wow, this seriously understates Grant's contribution last year, during the NCAA's and how he projects for this year.[/quote]
