If the shot clock is such a problem, why did teams average more points per game when the clock was at 45 seconds, or when there was no clock?
This is like putting a band aid on a broken bone. They are not even addressing the problem, which is too much physical play/handchecking, and incompetent officiating.
I agree to an extent. However, I fear that this thought process would lead to a game officiated more like NBA ball. There would probably be a happy medium during some transition years and then Boom!... college ball is now NBA ball, which would be very bad. While NBA officiating is better than college, NBA rules are atrocious.
The day a defensive 3 seconds violation is established in college ball is the day I stop caring about college basketball.
