ESPN

I think you have me confused with someone else. Ive rarely ever said anything about ESPN.

Nobody would ever put Hill and Underwood in the same category as Taylor Swift.

...Why am I even having this conversation? I'm going to the gym to work out to my Carly Rae Jepsen mix.

I don't find Taylor's voice distinctive in any way. And then she sings the most vapid, over-written, over-produced pop twaddle on the charts.

As far as work-out music goes, you're not fooling anyone with the Jepsen misdirection (sounds like a Ludlum novel). You'll be listening to this on the exercycle.

Well, in that video, Jaden Smith seems very angry in his Naruto Antifa costume.
Haha.. I deleted the post bc I figured it was a bit aggressive for SyracuseFan.com but yes, screamo trap is the new sound. Xxxtentacion has some interesting stuff as well.

You could post it in my music thread on the entertainment board. I've barely scratched the surface in that thread. I've not posted much of the heavier stuff I like. Prog stuff like Haken or The Dear Hunter. Periphery and other djent bands. Meshuggah, BTBAM, Opeth, etc.
I'm open to listen to anything. Except for country other than Willie and Johnny. And no Dead. So feel free to add to my thread, I'll listen. If I don't like it, I'll probably just make fun of it for the lols.

When I hear the term Prog I think of early Genesis or maybe Yes or King Crimson. :)

I grew up listening to that stuff. Genesis was my Dad's favorite band. Saw Phil at SPAC decades ago. I'm currently wearing a Peter Gabriel shirt from a show in Newark a few years ago. Saw Jon Anderson, Mike Portnoy and The Flower Kings do a full Yes set on the Norwegian Pearl. Same cruise I saw Adrien Belew. Bought my ticket last week for Crimson's fall tour.

Cruise to the Edge? A friend of mine and her husband, the late John Wetton, were supposed to be on that cruise this past February. Unfortunately as you may or may not know he passed away in January.

This new Thirty Seconds to Mars song would have been much more fitting for a college football song.

Progressive Nation at Sea. Fantastic trip. My condolences to your friend. I listened to some Asia this weekend, as a matter of fact. We've lost some great musicians lately, unfortunately.

My 3 year old daughter figured out how to make Alexa play Shake It Off, and ever since, every day of my life has been a little bit worse than the day before. (I guess that's been going on for awhile, but it has really escalated).

What about today? Is today the worst day of your life?

Agree except, as I mentioned, everyone's power to control Alexa creates a problem.

Now I typically run SiriusXM off the app on my iPhone and bluetooth thru the Bose Soundlink Mini. (My Prime Day gift to myself.).
Are you paying extra to get XM this way? I have it in two cars currently.

Thank you. It seems like the last couple of years in particular have hit the music industry hard.

I think (but don't quote me) if you have a subscription in your car, then adding online is really cheap. I want to say it's only an extra $2 a month or something.

Once you have online access, then you can just login thru the app, or listen on your PC. Anything you want.

You might have to have online as well to get Alexa to play it. Can't remember, even though I set that up just a few weeks ago. I can't remember what I had for lunch.

you pay a small fee to get the xm stream, but you can do alot with it. in theory you could cut a second radio and stream phone to bluetooth in the car, get an Echo or Dot and stream to that or some other speakers and save a good chunk of money depending on your streaming phone plan

If they are looking for chicks to rock out, here you go. And the song title even has a relevant reference.

does anyone really life Taylor swift who actually listens to music? what is her listener base anyway? Im not sure its football fans for the most part

4-5 years ago I think girls between about 14-28 was probably her target audience. I ended up seeing a Taylor Swift concert at MetLife in 2013 (escorting my teen nieces), and that was the majority of the crowd.

There's not much overlap in that demo with the demo for college football fans.

Using a Taylor Swift song to promote a college football game makes as much sense as having Ashlee Simpson perform at halftime of the Orange Bowl.

The Orange Bowl half time show was always so bad it was funny.

Why? There is no benefit.

I'm tired of diversity and PC nonsense. I want to be labeled. I am a 40+ year old man who likes beer, grilling, football, etc. I am part of the demographic the NFL appeals to. I don't like teenage pop music. I want my football accompanied by something with high energy and a little aggression, can be rap, rock, even country although I can't stand that crap but the old MNF theme was cool. College football is not about empowering women, they don't even play the damn sport. I'll say it again, label me. I want see commercials focusing on BBQ sauce, motor oil, and John Madden selling Tinactin damn it.

But you will watch no matter who plays, right?
