What doesn’t make any sense in all of this is that Jim Boeheim is friendly with him. Weitsman is involved with the TBT and, presumably, paying guys to play on the team. Is Jim Boeheim not wanting SU basketball to be funded properly? Wouldn’t it make sense for JB to assist in this situation? Why hasn’t the media asked JB directly about this?

The TBT guys aren't getting anything significant. Honestly I'm shocked that tournament is still going.

Airfare, hotel, meals, travel, for that first weekend, plus any sort of training camp. Plus any sort of stipend for work

Exactly. It's an "investment" to keep a certain person's name in the upstate NY news. It's a marketing expense.

All I'm saying is, he is connected with JB. Right, wrong, good bad, he is. And JB has openly said he's friendly with him.

Doesn't anyone else think it's weird that our most high profile coach in the history of the school is friendly with a guy who the school wants no part of?*

But I feel JB's relationship to Adam has always been about local philanthropy, not about basketball. JB was quick to say in his own press conference that Adam had not donated much to basketball or NIL for players.

Our number one whale athletic donor of $25 mil and BOT member with their surname on facilities has stated openly they will walk (and take their millions with them) if AW is involved.

They want AW to donate the way they do in large sum gifts without the social media bling and zing influencer strategy. AW doesn't want to do that. He's obviously spent a lot of his time and money developing his influencer status and he's simply not going to drop it because the Lallys don't like it.

Rich people and big egos disagreeing on the "how and why" it would seem, based on reports here by dasher... and the really big donor gets their way every time, of course.

It's unfortunate some mediated middleground can't be found/negotiated by all those involved. It would be good if everyone could play nicely in the same sandbox.

Our chancellor knows where the most bread is buttered and has chosen sides with the 1 lb. , 4-stick pack of butter and not the 5 foil-wrapped table squares of butter (or whatever AW was really planning to donate.)
