I highlighted a little bit during the summer but the Richmond leaving was not well received on A LOT of different communities of Cuse basketball. Assistant Coaches, former players, fans etc. This just highlights it even more.
idc what he is or not doing elsewhere. He fit perfectly here and in this offense

Thanks for posting... good read. That said, it's what many of us on this board have been saying all season. In fact, just about everyone is saying the same thing. The only one who isn't, just happens to be our HOF coach.

As for Kadary, yep... that still upsets me. What a difference maker he was. Every once in a while I think how different things could be with Q and Kadary still here (toss in Braswell too). We wouldn't be world beaters, but a solid team much more athletic, versatile, and better on D (that's for sure).

Great read. Thanks for the link.

nothing much to be said about the context of the interviews other than I guess it’s nice to hear from people that i would think have some credibility to hopefully everyone here.

You only have to go as far as saying give us KR and RB back and everything looks so much different.

Braswell would give us everything Swider has, plus so much more. There's no doubt in my mind he'd be grabbing more boards, playing much better D, and shooting as well, if not better than Cole. Sad.

Edit - after looking at his boards this year, maybe I should slow my roll there. Maybe it's just a function of the defense they are playing.

Yep a really good read. If folks want some hope, both Edelin and Hakim think this years team can still turn it around.

Cuse

Swider has the better defensive BPM and offensive BPM and thus the better overall BPM. In fact, Bobby’s DBPM is not very good. Worse than anyone on SU.

He’s playing man now right? I thought Braswell was one of our best defensive forwards in the zone probably in the past 5 years. He always seemed to be in the right spot.

And they play completely different defense, and this is his first year playing that in a bit. Are you trying to tell us that what we saw out of Big Bobby last year wasn't better than Swider? Really?

His three point percentage is higher than Cole's as well.

No idea what Charlotte plays.

Yea I think Swider is the better all around player.

Nice read, thanks for sharing.

Being a foreigner, what area does DMV represent?

Delaware DC, Maryland, Virginia.

Edited - Greater DC metro area is really what they are talking about. Thanks for clarifying heart man.

dont disagree much...but I do think Etan is being a bit hyperbolic.

the rotation shrank a lot due to sanctions ...and now with the portal and all the guys leaving...JB has just made the (wrong) decision to not even fill out his roster this season. I understand why...but I think its just the wrong move. i understand he probably doesnt want to invest in coaching guys who wont get a lot of minutes and then leave.

Overall, there were plenty of teams since 2003 where JB had a deep bench. The dion waiters teams went 10 deep. and that era wouldve legit won a title imo if not for onuakus injury. same with fab melo suspension...those teams were pretty deep.

the cj fair teams 2013-14 that started 25-0 or whatever went 9-10 deep

i agree 100% with the point that the deeper the bench the better the syracuse teams hav generally been and that they need to be used more.

they just arent getting that talent and they arent playing the bench as well. I dont think it is 100% by design.

I do think JB has slipped a bit in terms of stratgery and in getting the best out of his teams...on the other hand to make sweet 16s or final flurs with these rosters is borderline miraculous.

but i also think those sanctions were really killer. combine that with the defections and early departures (unanticipated) bazley, kadary qg, dior, lands, ...some players decalring earlier than expected a la tyler ennis...and just a failure to replace the talent that left earlier than anticipated...has has a cumlative effect here.
