Thanks for posting... good read. That said, it's what many of us on this board have been saying all season. In fact, just about everyone is saying the same thing. The only one who isn't, just happens to be our HOF coach.

As for Kadary, yep... that still upsets me. What a difference maker he was. Every once in a while I think how different things could be with Q and Kadary still here (toss in Braswell too). We wouldn't be world beaters, but a solid team much more athletic, versatile, and better on D (that's for sure).
That team would 100 percent be a top 25 squad, possibly top 10. Kadary and one or two athletic forwards (Braswell and Q) to go with Jimmy and Cole would have made a huge difference. Benny just isn’t ready yet for a major role.

Braswell would give us everything Swider has, plus so much more. There's no doubt in my mind he'd be grabbing more boards, playing much better D, and shooting as well, if not better than Cole. Sad.

Edit - after looking at his boards this year, maybe I should slow my roll there. Maybe it's just a function of the defense they are playing.

How he has been used is a lot of it.

And they play completely different defense, and this is his first year playing that in a bit. Are you trying to tell us that what we saw out of Big Bobby last year wasn't better than Swider? Really?
I will say...I think if we gave Bras the same mins that Cole is getting this year, he‘d disappoint. He’s meant to be a bench guy, coming in to shore up the D and hit an occasional open 3. In a perfect world, we’d have both with Cole playing the Griffin role from last year where he could be sent to the bench if he does what he does every other game. But that's just not an option unfortunately.

The one difference that I don’t think was addressed is the ability of the players to leave which makes managing the roster today much more difficult. KR and RB and QG would almost certainly be on this year’s team if there were no transfer portal or Covid eligibility. Now, how much pt they would get is another matter.

Billy Edelin thinks we can still turn it around, so I guess hope springs eternal. I loved his observations.
He should post that here on the board if he wants to be gang stalked.

those 3 on this team even with woody too..and its a much much better team (assuming they would get playing time...I know, BIG assumption)

i think that roster is ranked and has 2 maybe 3 losses

Point guards... just the best. Great stuff from Edelin:

I knew I could score, but I did what was best for the team and if that was setting up 'Melo, kicking it out to Kueth Duany for the fastbreak, getting Jeremy McNeil a few touches down low (which would translate to him playing better on the defensive end and blocking even more shots), that’s what I would do. But to your point, yes, I thought that’s definitely the role Kadary could’ve played and the role Symir could play now.

I highlighted a little bit during the summer but the Richmond leaving was not well received on A LOT of different communities of Cuse basketball. Assistant Coaches, former players, fans etc. This just highlights it even more.
idc what he is or not doing elsewhere. He fit perfectly here and in this offense
Let’s not go overboard on Richmond, as a lot of people on this board tend to do. His last 2 games he is 3-27 from the field with 11 turnovers. His last 4 games, 7-39 from the field. For the year, he is shooting .383 from the field and 7 for 24 from the three. Kevin Willard commented after the game that Kadary was “tired” after handling the pg duties for the 2nd time in three days. Once Aiken returns from concussion protocol Kadary will most likely go back to the bench. Su misses Quincy much more than Kadary.

I watched their last game and he wasn’t starting for Charlotte and you are right, Braswell’s rebounding, assist/turnover numbers are abysmal, even adjusted for 40 minutes vs Cole. His offense is better than Swider’s but his defensive numbers are worse. Sadly, he’s playing less and less the last few games.
