This happens every year.
The only things I'm concerned about is:

1. Why Coleman did not see more time.
2. CJ Fair's continuing pressure on himself to carry the team.
3. Our free throw shooting (I think it'll figure itself out later).
4. Keita and Rak playing extremely weak in there positions.

This game solidified my belief that Rak's and Keita's defense is not more valuable than Coleman's rebounding, energy and scoring.

Maybe I'm missing something.

Coleman did not look terrible on defense tonight. Kieta, with the exception of one steal and 2 ft's, did.

I am only concerned about your #3. It could cost us games.

I'm concerned too but I'd rather not be the "I told you so guy" as I've stated numerous times that free throws are a main fault in our program and coaching.

The guy that guarded CJ was like a glove. Did a great job defending him.
agree marsh. cj really could not get any good looks but he was pressing on a lot of those shots. He still missed shots he normally makes. Not too concerned about CJ but think that he should just let the game come to him more. Coleman not playing more was mind boggling to me. Made no sense at all. None... They needed offense desperately and rebounding and he was doing great in both aspects

When CJ's covered like that we should be able to go to our other main scoring options.

We have 3 (Grant, Cooney and Coleman)

JB cut off Coleman which KILLED US.

One thing I've learned from this game though... we will be dramatically better if Silent G gains some confidence, moxy and steps his scoring abilities up. I KNOW he has it in him.

Coleman played great offensively. But that one forward was eating his lunch on the defensive side.

Nevermind the refs calling a somewhat uneven game, the odd ball always bouncing to the Terriers, and a whole lot of missed layups/putpacks around the rim. Was kind of a perfect storm. St Francis played a pretty nice game, too.

The fact of the matter is the 2 other centers showed 0 worth tonight.

Christmas gave us nothing tonight. Just frustrating to see these unheralded St. Francis kids out playing a former Mickey D AA. But I could have told the SU coaches that four years ago.

Are you telling me that keita and Christmas have no worth based on a game in mid November to St. Francis?

Both of those two are at least 10 times better defensively. And I'm not at all rooting against coleman. On the contrary, I want him to succeed very badly.

Christmas drove 3-4 times past his man(every time he tried), got doubled and passed it off every time to the teamate whos defender left him to double Rak. Then we missed the open shot off it. It was good for ball movement and a jumper. I hope to see more of that.

I said 0 worth tonight. I'm not giving up on them by any means. I'm just saying Coleman showed worth when the others didn't, so logically Coleman should've played tonight.

St Francis was a very good defensive team and extremely patient on offense. Great game for us. We needed that.

If you think Coleman is one of our main scoring options, you really shouldn't be starting threads. Keita will be in at the end of games ALL YEAR which is as it should be. That is why the guy putting them there is in the HOF and you are typing on this forum.

If Coleman wasn't one of our main scoring options TONIGHT, I do not know what the definition of that would be.

I'll also go ahead and say that on any given night Coleman is twice the scorer/offensive player that Keita is, and keita twice the blabla on the defensive side.

Christmas could be averaging 4-5 assists a game right now if teamates knocked down shots off his passes when he gets doubled(every play today).

You aren't going to get that from Dajuan, Keita, Grant and unless from midrange instead of the high post, not Fair. That is very valuable for spreading a defense and finding outside shots.

Coleman is a great passer and moves the ball which opens opportunities for other players to get open.

I was ignorant of Rak's passing abilities though, my apologies. Thank you for bringing that point up.

Coleman wasn't an option tonight. His points were on tip ins and ft's. We were running much for him. But he gave us a boost early in the game on offense. But like JB said, he'd give it back on the other end. The other 2 centers weren't as bad defensively.

Coleman rebounds and because he rebounds he scores or gets to the line. He also rebounds on the defensive end which is something Rak and Baye just did not do nearly well enough tonight. Rak and Baye together had as many rebounds as Coleman.

Defense gets easier for the whole team when you're not consistently giving up second chance opportunities.

Yeah but dajuan had 1 defensive rebound in about 20 minutes.

I think our defense gave up 4 second chances in one possession with Rak in. Maybe Dejuan is more physical boxing out underneath. It's something I should check up on. Thanks for the good point.

Coleman had 1 defensive rebound. Let's not act like he was a glass cleaner.
