It was noted somewhere else that this new kid on the block has 18 years with the U.S.National Karate team.

He has the passion and lived it to know what it takes and lives with it everyday.

Exactly why Hicks needs to be gone. I'm not trying to be "controversial". I've got nothing against the man. But this looks to be the key component to this system working and you don't want or need another "expert" in the room that players can go to, that isn't perhaps entirely on board. I don't know Hicks as a person and he might not be the kind of guy to undermine the teaching that's going on now that he's not the head man, but I don't want to find that out the hard way. He may even conduct himself with 100% professionalism and grace in the situation but the players he worked with may still see him as an "alternative" to Edinger's authority. Hicks' very presence is a disruption and Coyle should have been firm vis-a-vis the football alums.

Hicks' continuing presence should also put aside all this talk about Coyle wanting to clean house. You could get rid of 100 Eric Whites and make less impact than replacing Hicks.
