The warriors didn't abuse Waiters on defense at every opportunity. Irving is obviously better on offense but against the warriors, you need to defend to have any chance. I'd rather have waiters defense and hope he doesn't go into I GOT THIS mode than watch GSW score at will?

By definition, it appears they would be better off with anyone rather than everyone they have. They are at Syracuse vs Pitt levels of ineptitude at this point.

Irving and Love are second tier stars that simply do not work well together or with LeBron overall. They are very poor defensively and seem to have disappeared offensively against GST.

Thompson and Green are all around good two way players. You can see the difference its obvious. Even Barnes, Livingston, Iggy all seem much more well rounded two way players than the Cavs supporting cast.

But Dion is not getting a max deal this summer! He is overweight and has lost some explosiveness:rolleyes:
...or maybe he just better than many people on this board realize :noidea:

I wonder sometimes if the better course of action for Lebron's "super teams" would be to sign all of the top D-league specialists - the two best three point shooters, the two best defensive wings, the best rebounder, etc. Guys that really just shine in one specific role, and let them do that role and be super hungry because they're just happy to be in the NBA.

You know, kinda like Delladova, but not where his thing is being dirty.

Lebron James deserves some blame too. He is a below average 3 point shooter and this year, he's way below average. gotta be able to shoot to win titles now

If your best players can't play defense you have no shot in the NBA! Dwade is an elite defender, Bosh is a good defender. Kyrie and and Love of horrible defenders Frye can't even stay on the court because he cannot guard anyone.

Not a fan of LBJ's, but even I'll admit he's had NO HELP these last 2 Finals.
Granted last year was due to injuries, but there are no excuses for this showing by the Cavs...so far. Love is a limited player, especially defensively, and Kyrie suffers from that same disease, with an added touch of "Gotta-Get-Mine Syndrome". He seems to have lost a step as well. The Dubs just look like the better team, IMO, and are clearly showing why they set the record for most wins.

If Love and Irving aren't getting 15 points a game each, they can't help you in other ways. Cavs are almost unstoppable when LeBron gets 20 and Love OR Irving get 25 and the other gets 15. When only one goes off, Cavs are suspect.

Even if Kyrie, Love and Lebron average 60 combined Cleveland has to get to 110pts to have a shot against golden state. Where are the other 50pts coming from?

If he'd play inside more the three point shooting wouldn't be an issue.

He should be playing the 4 vs the Warriors, then the 5 when the go small with Green. These guys all see themselves as perimeter players (Durant, LeBron, etc)

Don't think he'd be better than Irving, but the Cavs need a legit point guard. Irving isn't it.

They played Lebron at the 5 yesterday. The Warriors promptly went on a 20-2 run. They can't hang with them no matter what they do.

If lebron is at the 5 who is at the 4? When GS goes small Iguodala is at the 4. Who guards him?

This is a trick question in that (as stated above) there's not a lot they can really do. They are largely doomed because of a lack of two way players that can match the Warriors.

But I'd play (when the Warriors go death lineup) LeBron at the 5, Delladova at the 1, Kyrie at the 2, Shumpert at the 4, and JR at the 3. They'd still be outmatched - but at this point? Try everything.

agreed. But I would go big with Mozgov. There is no way the Cavs can out shoot GSW so try and kill them on the glass and slow down the game.

It's kind of hilarious because the team that offered "no help" is the very same team that he literally put together himself.

Playing small against the best small ball team ever is... Intelligent.

Go big. What happens, you lose? You've already done that twice.

Had a nice playoff run and made himself some money... but max money. Zero chance.

how much you want to bet?

So you think someone is going to offer him 4/96 or 5/129 (25% of the cap)?

I don't do on line bets with anonymous people. But I am more than certain a player that has been one of the most inefficient volume shooters over a 4 year stretch in the NBA since 2000, is not all of a sudden getting max because of a very nice run (which only worked when he was willing to be a support player)

But feel free to call me out when he gets it. I won't be angry by being wrong** as it will be good for Dion and I like Dion.

** as long as it's not the Raps signing him. I'm just hoping to find a way out of Demar Derozan getting the max because he can volume shoot a shot that teams want you to take (the mid to long 2)

A max deal is not 25% of the cap, it will be closer to 15% for Dion (max deals are based on years served) Dion will be offered a max deal the only question is whether OKC will match since he is a restricted FA.
