While we're all understandably excited for all the newer names on the roster I feel Sean Riley and, to a lessor extent, Moe Neal have become forgotten men on this board. Both of these elder statesmen had over 1,000 all purpose yards last year and showed tangible improvement last year.

Personally I feel like Riley has a lethal combo of hands, quickness, and agility that will prove a matchup nightmare in the middle of defenses. He may well become Tommy's safety valve as he was for Eric and he'll break more than a handful of long TDs as he did get BC and some others. The ball will get to him faster and should give him an extra half step that defenses can't cope with. Anyone else thinking similar? Believe this man deserves his dues from us fans.

Additionally Moe, with his degree already in hand, will be able to focus all his energy on football and get his 1000 yards rushing. Splitting carries with Adams and Howard will keep him fresh and with QB carries dropping significantly there will be plenty of carries to keep all the bulls fed.

Feel the same about Riley, he may see a dip in receptions though because he’s surrounded by Johnson, Jackson and Harris. The ball will be distributed much more. Riley and Johnson are our established homerun threats and Tommy throws a more crisp deeper ball.

Moe’s the most underrated senior in the ACC.

Thought JW's remarks in Tyler Marona's podcast were interesting about Sean. He seems unimpressed with his skill set and mentioned that Riley got all of his yardage and receptions on the same route concept.

Personally, I think Sean Riley provides quickness and danger over the middle, which is needed to open things up on the outside and open things up in the outside run game.

Who is JW?

so is that vastly different than what what most WRs do.. inside guys run many of the same rout trees over and over and so do the outside guys. we dont run much motion where guys do different things all the time.

Feel like he'll run the same 4 or 5 routes to death... And defenses won't be able to cope. He's going to to be going against cb3 or lb from opposition and he's going to exploit both badly.

It’s going to be very difficult for defense to pick and choose coverages on our 4 proven wideouts while keeping our running backs and Tommy’s opportunistic legs in mind.

Our offense is scary

hands? Whigham made good points about Riley. Dude drops the ball a lot and he will occasionally fumble on a PR.

A lot of that is because of the route tree our slot WRs are running. They are basing their route off of what they see. If defenses are running similar coverages, he's going to be on the same route a lot.

My question I always wanted to know.. how much do our WRs routs change pre vs post read? when I watch the all 22 i sometimes wonder why our WRs never adjust the rout to make the throws easier for bigger plays. Of course it helps of the QB is accurate enough to lead them into the huge holes too.

That was his big growth area last year. He had a fair share of big drops in years prior but last year he hauled in pretty much everything thrown his way, many times in tight windows between 2 or 3 db's. Was watching highlights of last year's games when I thought "you know, we under rate this guy pretty badly". He's not wr1 or even wr2 this season but he's got a real chance to shine with, what I think, will be asked of him this season.

How do you watch that?

game replays mostly. but you dont get whole games of that.. sit in the endzone during games and you get a great view of that as well.

I like Riley he should do well , but whigham killed him reckon Nunes podcast
I agreed with Whig’s take on Custis last year. Don’t agree with him here. Riley has a role and plays it well, but he’s dynamic too if needed.
