I hope GMac and staff do well, but its a little too early to say we now have the coaches to succeed. Let's hope we have that coach.

I had seen a post saying we have the money for the coaches

Worst case scenario needs to be bubble team that shows improvement and has an identity.

But if we legitimately end up with $10 million+ in roster money, anything less than a tournament bid would be a disappointment.

If the money is higher than expected and we end up with say top 3-4 NIL in the league, I would like to see us ranked or receiving votes to start the season. That money should buy you enough talent to get that kind of buzz.

I think anything short of an NCAA tournament team is going to be viewed as a failure by a lot of fans. Because of how the end of JBs career went and that Red didn’t work out at all, the margin for error here is incredibly small. It’s on the school for putting themselves in that situation due to previous decisions - but GMac has to deal with that situation.

Undefeated National Championship and Doty wins MOP. Print the Tee Shirts now. We are going to sell lots of them. So many that Shirt World is going to reopen just to sell National Championship swag. Gerry gets an offer to Coach the Lakers for $10 Million a year and Doty becomes a lottery pick.

From everything I heard the tournament will be expanded next year. Very possibly to 76 teams. So the expectation should absolutely be to make the tournament.

Make the tourney anyway we can. Then build from there. Making the tourney is huge for the program and to keep the donors coming.

Regardless my expectation is a tourney berth with a 9 seed or better.

My other expectation is that I’ll read 13,000 permutations of “blah blah blah is better than Red” over the next year. And every time a little part of me will die inside.
