Gerg may not've been a great coach, but he recruited some high potential players for having such a garbage team. Marrone inherited the likes of Doug Hogue, Delone Carter, Chandler Jones, Andrew Tiller, Justin Pugh,  Ryan Nassib, and Shamarko Thomas, all of whom were drafted in the first 6 rounds. When you look at the players that dino inherited, you have Dungey, Slayton, Zaire (7th round pick), Ish, (undrafted), Riley Dixon (7th round), and Cordy. Marrone got to start out with a bunch of guys who were pretty much almost physically ready guys to play big east football, they just needed to be taught technique. What Babers inherited was a bunch of undersized kids who may not have a lot of talent, but they have a lot of heart. Those'll make for some cool stories Shafer, but that's not gonna win you games in the ACC. I think there's a reason why we only have 12 shafer seniors left when there were 27 commits who were supposed to be playing this year.
