Yes the ACC was weighed down by BC's suckage, but having two #1 seeds and the conference going 8-1 for its first 9 games pretty much drops the mic on the conversation.
To be fair --- if Ville was in it, who knows if we would have got a bid.If Louisville were in it, the conference could probably add two more wins to the total by the end of the weekend.
Kinda explains our crap road record this year.
We would, Tulsa would not. We weren't the last team in.To be fair --- if Ville was in it, who knows if we would have got a bid.

Apparently, SU was ahead of 5 other teams from being out. So UL and SMU both could've made it and we'd still been in.We would, Tulsa would not. We weren't the last team in.
The old BE never got 6 teams into the sweet sixteen though. That would be an accomplishment.i have not gotten over the old big east---best ever---oh well

This year the new ACC has 4 in already with two more possibilities and that was with Lville sitting this one out.The old Big East got 5 teams in the Sweet 16 in 2009.
Yup - Cuse, Nova, Ville, UConn, PittThe old Big East got 5 teams in the Sweet 16 in 2009.

The most the old ACC had in the sweet 16 was four. But they did it 8 times between 1984-1995. They hadn't reached that number again until last year when the ACC had five teams in the sweet 16.Speaking of old Big East, what's the most teams the old acc ever put in the sweet 16?
5 teams last year, at least 4 this year. The rest of the country needs to finally recognize where the best basketball resides. The most the old ACC had in the sweet 16 was four. Stop. The big east should not be in any kind of comparison talk to the new ACC. That's just nonsense. The Big East has the second best record right now at 4-1 and second most teams left (tied with the Big10 with 4) with 2 games against the ACC coming up later today. If they were to win those they could be considered the best conference at this point in the tournament (just talking about the NCAAT).
Im a"Root for the ACC" proponent but I think, looking way too far ahead, it would be advantageous for us to have Virginia eliminated from the tournament, although, again, looking way too far ahead, not sure I'd want to see Niang against our zone.If you were rooting against Yale, Providence, or Butler I'm pretty sure you're doing march madness wrong.
