Our D was on the field and we got beat

Pena doesn’t start on defense.

He was in deep to return that punt. We gave Clemson a 3 v 4 advantage on the right side and the punter pulled the trigger.

If Pena lines up over that cluster the punter probably just kicks it deep.

We hedged against a fake instead of dictating to them by defending it straight up.

It was a great throw and a great job of the receiver getting a foot down before being forced out

The receiver wouldn’t have been triple teamed.

The safety rolled over to double him after leaving the box.

We had a safety in the box in case they faked it to an up back.

Once the punter decided to throw our other safety rolls over to the side of the field the punter is staring at. He arrives a split second after the ball.

If we had another DB on the field instead of Pena sitting deep for a kick we would’ve shown enough coverage over those Clemson WRs to dissuade that particular fake.

literally ended up being the deciding factor of the game. I was screaming at the TV, "FAKE! FAKE FAKE!" as soon as they called a timeout. And then when they came out in that formation it was so obvious...and I'm not that smart, I'm sure I wasn't alone.

Me, too. I was thinking the fake punt is coming. Instead, a missed field goal is coming.

Yes, if they want to hedge against a fake and keep small upside of a possible return.

Other teams might’ve sold out to defend against a fake by keeping the full defense in.

We decided not to sell out to defend against a fake. It wasn’t the worst call by the staff and Clemson made a big time play to succeed.
