Fan Fest Sat Aug 18

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Get ready for an exciting day of fun and football at the 2018 Preferred Mutual 'Cuse Family Fun Fest Saturday, Aug. 18 at Manley Field House. The event includes a variety of interactive games and challenges, an opportunity to meet your favorite Orange football players, and more!

The Manley Field House parking lots open at 10:30 a.m. and the festivities begin at 11 a.m. with an outdoor carnival in front of the building. The carnival features a bounce house, inflatables, a caricature artist, and a balloon animal-maker for the kids. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the Lady Orange Dancers and mascot Otto the Orange.

Inside Manley, fans can test their skills in a passing accuracy challenge, field-goal kicking contest, and the 40-yard dash for the chance to win a variety of great prizes. The top performers in each event will be invited back at 1:30 p.m. to go head-to-head against current Orange players in the "Fans vs. Football" skills challenge.

Following the skills challenge, all fans will be invited onto the field for selfies with the student-athletes.

Sooooooooo basically a glorified half-time show. Going to be out of town. First year I won't be there in a very long time, don't think I'll miss it.

You'll miss the bouncy rides.

I was really excited for this announcement and couldn’t wait to get back up there. Now, I think we’re going to skip and go to a game instead.

This is a big disappointment, oh well going to have to bring the family to a real game instead lol.

I don’t know why everyone is so upset. The up close and personal aspect of this, especially for the kids, is what this is about.

They don’t come right out and say it, but safe to assume those of you who think fan Fest brand football matters a lot will be able to watch as usual?

You’re right. For us, we had that experience at the spring game so I was hoping if we were going to make the trip up again we’d get something a little different. Don’t ask me what exactly, though lol. Hotel, food, travel expenses, we’ll save that and bring the kids up to a game instead.

Why Manley? Most of us would love to see the inside of the airplane hangar or just habe it outside like past years. This sounds like a waste of time.

Well they don’t want it rained out again and the IPF can only hold a certain number of people due to fire safety concerns

Dino does not like to waste practice time with these and i don’t blame him. I know he has obligations for fans but he has a greater obligation to win

I get it. He would bag this and the spring game given the chance. Eye on the prize, i get it.

I don’t know what others want to see? An actual game? Why? Lol. This is a good way to interact with the team/team interact with fans.

I think alot of fans would like to see the new IPF . I know there arent stands in there. Fans standing 3-4 deep all around the field for a practice would be pretty cool.

We were given that opportunity the year it opened. But you’re right, they should at least allow a peek in for those that haven’t had the chance.
