Who’s your favorite 5?

I chose this period because I feel like after Rak we transitioned to an ACC only Syracuse. Though we’ve, in our opinions, struggled since the Ennis years.. I think there’s a lot of great Orange players who don’t really get their dues. Or at least haven’t yet.

Mine are:

1. Hughes
2. Gbinije
3. Ansalem
4. Brissett
5. Marek

I was very critical of Marek his entire time here but there’s no denying the value he brought to the program and the effort he displayed night in and night out.

Tyus
Malachi
Gbinije
Marek
Elijah

Also, instead of favorite 5, how would you rank your top 5 post-ACC move players? The 5 I mentioned would all be up there but an argument could be made for Lydon, Oshae, Andrew White, and Buddy.

Gillon
Marek
Cooney
Eli
JG3

Jesse should be on the list because he's a great year on a good team away from easily being the best center I've seen play for Syracuse but I can't control what my heart says

Battle
Gbinije
Hughes
Marek
Lydon (same home town)

If we are doing best players since 14-15…by win shares alone…

Gbinije
Christmas
White
Lydon
Hughes

I was counting after 2015, but if we count 2015 then definitely Rak. Interesting Tyus doesn’t get more mentions considering how talented he was. He kept us in NCAA contention his sophomore and Junior seasons here, not to mention leading us to the Sweet 16 in 2018.

I just went by win shares since that year to keep it consistent. I think we tend to overrate perimeter players and underrate bigs.

Gbinije
Hughes
Kadary
Marek
Gillon

Honorable mentions to Jesse, Buddy, and Tyus

In no particular order:

Shaun Belbey
Ky Feldman
Braedon Bayer
Ray Featherston
Brendan Paul

If I could go 6, then Chaz Owens would make the cut.

And I agree…..these guys definitely have not gotten their dew.

I was going to jokingly do all my least favorites, but I don’t wanna get ratioed.

Eli
Marek
Silent G
Rico
Jesse

HM - CDB, Chewie, OSB, Gillon.

I liked Brissett, but that's a little like saying I liked Lesean Howard...there wasn't a lot of time to see him.

Throw in Sidibe, Battle, Roberson, Dolezaj.
