Favorite Songs Of The 1970's

Emmylou Harris doesn't write most of her own material, but she did write this tribute to her mentor, Gram Parsons
[song: Boulder to Birmingham]

and when she wasn't covering Parsons, she was covering Rodney Crowell (who also played in her band on many of her early albums)
[song: Ain't Livin' Long Like This]

this Crowell song has been covered by Leon Russell, Willie Nelson, Van Morrison and many others, and Emmylou's version holds up to anyone's. From the 1975 album Elite Hotel, but this is a 1983 live performance, accompanied by Crowell & Albert Lee
[song: Till I Gain Control Again]

and finally, Emmylou and the Hot Band serve up a swinging, countrified version of a classic Chuck Berry tune
[song: (You Never Can Tell) C'est la Vie]
