Fenway Park to Host Bowl Game Between ACC and AAC Teams

Can’t wait! Right in my backyard. Anyone angry about it is insane. More inventory if we have a down season is ok w me. They will want Syracuse too vs the atrocious treatment we received from the gator bowl

really bowl game bad attendance almost across the board. the main reason is travel cost.

the teams that travel in the ACC wont want to go to Boston because it means a crappy year. but you will get a set of pitt/su/bc fans who will go to boston because it becomes exponentially cheaper to attend.
Good luck with the hotel. I'd rather put that $$ to a plane ticket.

I wonder why the ACC would stoop?
The Pinstripe Bowl has a very good payout. Considerably more than say the Gator Bowl.

Knowing the rivalry between the Red Sox and Yankees, I bet this bowl has a nice payout too, and these bowls will get competitive trying to get the better teams and outdo each other.

The Pinstripe has the B1G as the opponent, so right now, they are pretty far ahead.

So they can say they had x amount of bowl teams. No one will car or remember that it was vs tulsa

Bowl affiliations are good.

What I meant was: why would the ACC stoop to an arranged alignment with the AAC? That doesn't make any sense.

its boston.. in dec.. hotels will be a snap.and you can stay on the train line outside the city for net to nothing..

plus 75% of the Su fans if we go could drive up and back if they wanted..

Check the link I posted. For tonight hotel rooms are $4-900. Maybe you find something cheaper. It's ALWAYS $$$$ in Boston.

Other than ESPN...

Yeah... and I’m exactly the kind of mope that makes this a benefit to them. I’ll end up with the game on as background noise or watching it at the bar.

Eyes = $

No, unless the sponsors back up a truck at the Carrier Dome with a gazillion bucks! :vomit:

i have stayed mid summer down by fenway for way under $200.

in looking around in dec.. the 4 star copley is $150 in dec.. you stay out on the T line and its under $100.

Meh... Alright, I'm just bitter. It wasn't that expensive to stay at the team hotel in Orlando, tons of fans, made it more fun, definitely worth it.. I'm afraid that would be way too expensive in Boston or NYC(my previous, least favorite destination).

you can spend $500 to get back and forth to orlando to see a game and stay for $100 a night or spend $50 to get to boston and spend $200 for a night.

the game weather will be better but the stuff to do in boston is way better unless you want to spend $200 to do disney.. and if you add 2-3 people the cost go up pretty quick.

boston better than detroit anyway

might even get a bball or hockey game in the deal

Prob couldn't do better at this time. If it does well and lasts for a bit - the conf would look to upgrade, I'm sure.

I'm still opposed, but unlike the pinstripe bowl, it's Bar Central next to Fenway. Like many at the Fenway Gridiron series, you may find yourself leaving the game to get warm at said bar.

If someday it helps SU get a bowl bid and the practices that come with it, fine.

Aside from that, football in cold weather baseball stadiums stinks. The novelty wore off a decade ago. I'd rather SU just have a controlled scrimmage in a parking lot in Florida, honestly.

Yes, like the Pinstripe did, dumping the B12 for the B1G.

An ACC vs B1G matchup is probably the long term desire of the Boston Bowl people.

I’m only slightly happy with this because I have to spend Christmas in Massachusetts every year. In the years we go I will gladly attend, but what a crappy bowl game to add for the ACC
