Gonzaga is in that Pitt category AFAIC. They've screwed up too many opportunities for me to ever believe they'll make a legit run until they show me.
1999 was sixteen years ago.

Kentucky
Arizona
Virginia
Gonzaga

Arizona over Gonzaga for title

These look familiar...well done...I will probably use these as my main picks and do another with Duke in place of ISU and maybe Wiscy in place of Arizona.

I could go either way on Wisc/Zona, and my gut tells me that this is not a final four Duke team.

I kind of feel the same the way about Duke. I actually think Okafor will be a problem for them in a tight game because of his ft woes. He may actually wind up on the bench because he'd be a liability in that respect. I do think that losing in the ACC tourney gave them a chance to work on some things and for K to light a fire under them. They also have a very easy draw...shocker.

Mark Emmert - Chief clown
Britton Bonowsky - Bozo's sidekick
Greg Sankey - We can cheat but you can't
Eleanor Myers - I'm still mad I'm in the AAC

Flock all of you and twice on Sunday.

Hey isn't there like an enite "I hate the NCAA" message board? Go be butt hurt over there :)

With Kentucky taking it.

Melancer: give me a few quick thoughts on what you like about Utah. Thanks.

Recent history tells us that the teams that go the distance ALWAYS rank in the top 20 in KenPom's offensive and defensive efficiency ratings (Utah is #18 in offense and #8 in defense), and that they almost always have an NBA PG leading the way (Delon Wright), and I just think Wright is the type of guy that can give teams a lot of issues. There aren't many teams that really have guys that can defend him IMO. And the fact that they shoot over 40% from 3 as a team is an added bonus.

Basically, they play stifling defense, can shoot it from outside, and have a do-everything NBA-bound PG that's capable of putting the team on his shoulders when need be.

Edit: Having said that, with my usual luck with brackets, Stephen Austin will almost certainly beat them in the first round lol (and to be fair, Stephen Austin is a really good 12 seed IMO).

A lot of people LOVE Stephen . Austin in that game. It's a gamble to have Utah going far, considering they might not make it to the weekend.

I do agree with Wright and your analysis; I just wish the two teams weren't matched up so that they could BOTH make deep runs.

The committee does that s*** literally every year. It's a joke.
