I wouldnt root for duke if it meant world peace. I dont get this
Lets root for our conference“ crap.
If Clemson, UNC and Louisville didn’t all suck during this tourney, I would care less about the conference stuff. But it would suck less for Syracuse and the league at this point if Duke wins.
That, and I will win my pool if Duke wins. And since my 401k has disappeared in the past week, I could use the money.

phi slamma jamma all the way
More like Phi Hamma Grabba. Grabba them on the press. Grabba them in the halfcourt. Hamma them when they shoot. Whoever collects the most fouls without actually fouling out gets to watch the rest of the team do 300 pushups.

Not Duke. There can only be one greatest freshman to lead his team to a national championship of all time.

I pick Houston.
Yup, there’s talk about Flagg being the goat freshman if he wins a championship. Long live the king Melo.

Rooting for Duke. Same reasons as others have stated, but especially Cooper Flagg is just fun to watch play!

Hope he goes to the Wizards so I can see him play regularly.

I've disliked and rooted against Duke my entire life, but I'm pulling as hard for them as any team outside of Syracuse in a Final Four that I can remember. Reasons:
  • Cooper Flagg's the real deal and a lot of fun to watch. I also think Scheyer's a great coach despite him being a quintessential Duke villain as a player. I also like Maliq and respect his decision. I would've done the same.
  • I don't want to see the SEC rewarded for buying the sport.
  • Bruce Pearl and Todd Golden are sleazebags. If you don't know what I'm talking about, do some quick research. Re Golden, where there's smoke, there's always at least a little fire.
  • Houston's style of play is an affront to the game of basketball. Clutch, grab, and in general muck up the game as much as possible knowing that refs can't call a foul every possession. It's basically cheating.
Curious who others are rooting for.
What the difference between a clutch and a grab?

in the immortal words of Denis Leary ... no. No. Capital N Capital O, No -ING way do you
root for Duke.

Couldn't do it when they played UConn for the title in 98.

I blame Pitino for learning the clutching/grabbing from Riley in the NBA and bringing it
to college with Kentucky, and it's gotten way worse since 96 (jerk). But I am hopeful Houston
can win it, as I've been rooting for them to win one since that night in 1983.

Rotting for Houston now. They could be the 4th champ West of the Mississippi since 1997. Although they would give the B12 a 4th title since then which I don't like.

Florida you could argue has already passed SU as a program. Definitely since the 64+ team NCAAT era. Another title would cement that.

Can't root for Golden.

SEC has only ONE title since 2007 and 0.0 since 2012. It would be nice to keep that going.

I don’t know. I just watched that entire game and I didn’t see anything resembling Pitt late 90’s to early 00’s. I mean it’s tough and in your face but didn’t seem illegal. Their defense is possible because they recruit guys with 7-5 wingspans . So they get their hands on a lot of passes / shots. They don’t give you any quarter. The most illegal grab I saw all game was coopers weak attempt at the end where he clearly wraps his off arm around Roberts for leverage. And still missed

Happy for Houston. They should have beat Duke last year, but Shead was injured in the first 10 minutes of the game.
