Cantor directed TGD to do so.

Cantor asked Gross to do so...says Thamel.

I'm waiting for all the info to come out on this one. I don't know...just seems weird...I think most important is why was he living in the basement? What were the circumstances?

Obviously if found true, I'd like him gone and in jail. I don't see the cover up angle at all though. I just don't believe Cantor would allow it.

Cantor directed TGD to do so.

I wonder if this would have happened had there not been the Sandusky case...SU will surely err on the side of caution in light of this

If Bernie cares about this University-and is guilty-he should resign Friday. Let's hope more are not involved.

Than what?

Story seems to have broke about an hour ago...seems pretty quick to me.

It was more wishful thinking than a serious statement. Wishful thinking that SU could possibly separate themselves from this mess.

Like fire him in the 1980's, before the creation of the internet, twitter and a savage media?

Not sure if that is just the semantics, but why couldn't JAB or TGD make that decision.
They could have. May even been talking about it when Cantor called and beat them to it. On emore thing has to happen different than PSU's handling. JB is going to have to talk, no later than tomorrow. JB may not be as big or as powerful as JoePa was at PSU but he is the face of the program and university in this matter. Like or not we need to hear from him.

Good! Not sure they let JB coach another game until more details come out either. That might be the next hammer to come down quick.

It is good to see that apparently the university has learned from Penn State's (many) mistakes.

Any guesses on the next school that has an allegation like this pop up? I guarantee there will be another within the next 10 days.

Mason

Same evening ain't good enough?

I was honestly surprised SU hadn't suspended him by the time the story broke. Damage control. Any effort possible to avoid letting this turn into Penn State 2.

That is ridiculous

SU will make things will happen VERY quickly in light of Penn State.

Whether anyone likes it or not, Jim Boeheim is going to be on a real hot seat.
So may Syracuse PD.
But Boeheim has some real explaining to do given his history with Bernie Fine and the way this apparently
transpired.
And look out...because these stories tend to just keep unraveling...more and more details and victims.

I would expect that next week's MSG visit will result in a much larger media turnout.
And they won't be there to cover the games.

And it's likely we'll be hearing more stories at more colleges.

Why? JB is above the law? What Paterno is to PSU, JB is to SU.

He's not--nor is he above university rules / sanctions.

Which is why the prospect of him being put on leave is unlikely, given that the University conducted their own investigation into these allegations.

But now we have NEW people coming forward. New information

JB had to be aware of the allegations in 03. I don't see how he couldn't have been.
