I had us beating Pitt and losing to NC State. Keats does a good job against us. After losing a bunch of coin flip games, we finally won one.
So where are we? Our offense is improving. Swider is improving. Our defense - while still not anything to write home about - is improving. And Buddy’s starting to peak, as he tends to do this time of year.
We have enough winnable games in front of us to put together a nice winning streak, although we still have very little room for error. I’m not sure we’ll finish with a winning record. It will be close.
I think we are 5-1 against NCST and Keats over the last 6 games, which makes him 1-5. I'd hate to know what you think doing a bad job against us is?
I agree we have winnable games in front us, especially with the ACC being as weak as I can ever recall.
The offense improving? Well, the last two games were about as good as we can possible play on the offensive end, scoring 94 and 89 respectively. Your "improving" comment didn't answer my question though, which was; do you think the offense can
sustain such an high output? With the defense being as poor as it is, that'll likely be what it will take to win consistently. According to JB, playing "great" O vs. "good" as "good," according to JB, apparently still wouldn't have cut it.
I'll agree to disagree on the "improving" on the defensive front as I just don't see it as you apparently do. We just gave up 82 points to State. Even the prior game against Wake, we gave up 72. So, certainly far from anything to write home about, I'll agree there. It took 2nd half barrages in both games to win, 55 points against Wake and 47 against State, albeit against Wake, once we had that early 2nd half separation, the game was never in doubt afterwards.
Perhaps, we just need to continue our trend of being down 3 at the half. Seems to be a good omen for us...at least in these past two games.
