First SU Beats Duke at Cameron, Now Wegman's Is Taking Over NC

Anxiously waiting for the two new Richmond-area stores to open this spring. Weggies uber alles!-VBOF

Wegmans from the north and Publix from the south. Pretty soon every corner will have the same grocery stores, banks, drug stores and fast food joints.

Won't be able to tell one city from the next.

Now it's time to short Harris-Teeter...the Wegman's wannabe in the south.
Nothing beats Wegman's...and Cary is perfect location.
Wonder if they'll carry Genny Cream Ale.

wegmans will eat publix's lunch. literally will probably be their italian sub, chips, and coke. But wegmans will eat it. all day. everyday.

But in Albany it's still crickets. :bang:

Believe the agreement between Price Chopper and Wegmans is still in effect.

Maybe they can make it all the way to Charleston, I am sick of Publix, harris teeter and bi-lo BLAH!

Price choppers are so dumpy now it's hard for me to believe I actually thought they were nice before. My mom used to go to the one in Watervliet. Disgusting.
They are upgrading them with a new Market 32 concept. Trying to copy Wegman's as much as possible. Still not close though.

And they are afraid to take on Stop and Shop in Fairfield County, CT.

Years ago the one in Watervliet was Really disgusting. They did open a new one in town a year ago. That one is fine.

Is that one where the church used to be?

Wegmans is obviously a very nice grocery store, but I kind of find people's obsession with it a bit much.
I'm not obsessed but once you live near a Wegman's for a bunch of years and then move away you do find you miss it. It's head and shoulders better than anything else. Not cheaper, but better.
