My best friend is a hard core FSU alum. He used to be an obnoxious Seminole fan but has mellowed now into his 50's. Over the years, he has tried numerous times to get me to attend an FSU/Cuse game. However, the thought of taking a road trip to likely see a beat down in Tallahassee has never been very appealing. I've been to Tallahassee for a couple of other games so I've experienced their game day, which is pretty cool.

Just this weekend he floated the idea again. I bit this time. Not sure why though... maybe because it's my birthday weekend, I'm now living in Tampa so only 3 1/2 hours away, being locked inside for so long due to the pandemic, or the thought that we could actually give them a run and at the very least, avoid an embarrassing lost. I felt pretty good about my decision until watching the 4th quarter of the Notre Dame game.

Hopefully I made a good decision. We will see. For others who are making the trip, maybe we can connect.

Well, it's always good to get out and see a college football game. The game, pretty girls. We probably aren't going to win. sad to say. But you can still have a good time.

Don’t overthink it. You could be dead in a year. Always say yes to everything you can afford in life. Who cares about the outcome of the game. You’ll have a blast. And we have a 20% chance to win which is way higher than no chance.

Look at it this way, if you do not go and we manage to win how would you feel, if you do go and we win how would you feel? To me bigger upside if you go, and the downside is the same if we lose either way. So I would definitely go.

I might try to get to Tallahassee for this. 1) for the game. 2) for the women.

Been to Clemson, South Carolina, UGA and UF for games down south and the women at The Swamp… let’s just say I could barely even focus on the game. They hold the title for me so far.

You're right to question it. Tallahassee could be terrible, the game might be awful, and you could have a falling out with your friend

I would not assume that Notre Dame is a powerhouse. Seems like every year they are overrated. Good teams, but rarely great teams (in recent decades). FSU may not be as good as they appeared to be in that ND game?

We'll see how the season plays out. At this point, I wouldn't put money on a Syracuse win, but you never know.

It's Florida...Covid is a consideration.

Going to Cuse/LSU in Baton Rouge was an incredible experience despite the final result. Every away game is worth the trip

Did you go to the Maryland game in 2019?

Getting boat raced by 30 at halftime didn’t feel great and sticking it out to see them get beat by 43 felt even worse. The wicked sunburn from the section we were in was also a nice reminder for the next week that not all away games are worth the trip.

It’s not a good decision, it’s a great decision. I went down there for the 2019 SU game, attended the forum tailgate and watched the Orange get absolutely pounded. My buddies are STILL talking about that trip, the tailgate, game experience in totality and what a great time it was. Game outcome is basically an afterthought. Go for it.

Haha.. I was at the first Georgia Tech game. The one where we seemed completely surprised they were running triple option on us. It was awesome.

He only mellowed because they have sucked in recent years

The roadie to Maryland was awesome until the game started. Felt pretty miserable in the bar afterward, that's for sure. That's on me, though. I'm slowly learning to let bad games not get me so down. Last year, although I was obviously at home, I did much better and made some progress. The current world situation puts things into perspective, I guess.

No, you're not making a good decision.

You're making a GREAT decision.

I don’t think I could handle hearing that deafening chant for 3 hrs live… I can barely watch one of there games on tv and I don’t mind FSU as a program I was really pulling for them to beat nd.

Thank god I live in atlanta and that doesn’t count as an away game. Holy cow that was the absolute worst.
